Butterfly Lovers
I put on makeup, slipped into a beautiful dress, and let Sean wheel me to the old family home.
I watched with my own eyes as the wall of that house collapsed, the dust rising like smoke.
Smiling, I whispered, "Sean, our past has finally been laid to rest."
He clasped my hand tightly. "Yes. A new life begins."
I slowly closed my eyes.
After death, I drifted above, watching as Sean calmly arranged my funeral. He chose a burial site surrounded by mountains and water, laying me to rest beside my parents.
At my grave, he reached out to touch the photo carved into my tombstone, his smile radiant, though his eyes brimmed with sorrow.
