Searching up everything I could about the beast. I would ask dad about it, but the angry he expressed from the phone call concerns me. I thought it was best not to speak to him about it. After breakfast, I went up to my room to relax on my bed. Upon passing my window, I saw something in the woods. "Alex?"

' Sighing, I opened the page, where I left off from. "Ha!" exclaimed Beauty, almost angrily, "know that I would lay down my life to save his, and that this Monster, who is only one in form, has a heart so humane that he should not be persecuted for a deformity which he refrains from rendering more hideous by his actions. I will not repay his kindness with such black ingratitude." I squinted my eyes, feeling the headache getting to me. Maybe it was not a good idea to read books now. I closed the book and kept it on the nightstand.

He wrote the first line of a new chapter. "Once, there was a man who was a beast, and a woman who was a ghost. They lived in a city of gold that turned to dust, but they found a truth that the fire couldn't touch." Behind him, a woman with tangled hair and a diamond-encased wooden ring walked out of the morning mist. She didn't have a suit, and she didn't have a name. She looked at the man writing on the wreckage and felt a strange, impossible sense of gravity.

I made sure that I was walking at a steady pace just so I wouldn’t spook her. She reminds me of a newly born pup as she shivers. I now stand before her. At this distance, I can see how far our height difference is. I meet the eyes of the girl. My body begins to move on its own, forcing me to reach out to her. It was then that I noticed how my hands are covered in blood. My white fur looks like it was deliberately painted in red. Even my nails are covered in them—along with skin and fur from tearing the limbs of that fake alpha.

Then Max got up, and the smile he sent Ariella, combined with the golden glow of firelight reflecting in his gorgeous brown hair, made her heart quicken. "You've all heard the story of Beauty and the Beast, right? About a beautiful young woman who falls in love with a hideous creature and saves his castle from a curse? Well, let me tell you a story that is a little bit similar and much more real, for I've met the main character myself."

Clarissa snuggled closer to him. “Can I see it?” She asked suddenly, stunning him a bit. “You want to see the beast?” He asked to be sure that he was actually hearing her correctly. She pulled back slightly. “Yes, I want to see what it looks like. Does it have a portrait or something?” She asked calmly. He nodded. “But, I don’t want you to see it, you might get scared.” She noted, and that made him laugh. Archer slowly turned the pages of the book and settled on the beast. It was one of the scariest things that Clarissa had ever seen, but still, she forced herself to keep looking.

I felt the magic of the moment wash over me, and I knew that this was truly the beginning of a new chapter in my life. The chanting grew louder, reaching a crescendo as the elders raised their heads to the moon. And then, as one, we all howled to the sky. The sound was deafening, a symphony of power and strength that echoed through the forest. I felt the transformation begin, my body shifting and contorting as my beast form emerged. I let out a growl of excitement, reveling in the power of my beast. The elders stepped back, allowing me to stand in the center of the circle, the new king of the pack.

Closing the door behind me, I let out a long puff of air, feeling like I was drawing in my first draft of air after holding my breath for too long. I could finally breathe, but my heart was still pacing abnormally. When I reached my room and sat on my bed, it dawned on me like a bucket of ice cold water: I had witnessed the impossible, a supernatural phenomenon unfolded right before my eyes. My mother is married to a Beast, not a human being, and I do not think she knows it.
