Warmth encircled me and the welcoming scent of the ocean woke me from my slumber. I was in Justin's room. I looked over realizing we had both moved to the middle of the bed causing me to be a few inches away from him. Justin's hair was a mess sticking up every which way, though mine was probably worse.

I gasp softly when the elevator abruptly stops and it opens wide. Miss Dawnson looks at me briefly, adjusting her glasses before walking out of the elevator. I lick my lower lip, following suit. Books and lot of books...an underground archive? For some reason, I wish I had turned earlier and left. She stops right in front of the long vintage desk and says, 'this is your desk...feel free to settle in.'

🌹_______________ Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light 🌹_______________ I kept everything in order and swept the library with some other girls. I wasn't in a hurry, so I spent so much time there. Soon after, I was done I went to the counter to tell the lady I'm going. Senior David came in immediately and dropped a book on the counter for the lady. "You came to return the book, it's past school hours" she told him in a very harsh tone.

“And you’ll get us all killed if you can’t keep pace.” The words stung like a blade because they were true. But I tightened my grip anyway, dragging the kid forward. “They stay with me.” Kaia stared a moment longer, then turned, snow crunching under her boots. --- Dawn When dawn finally broke, it was cruel. Pale light spilt over the trees, silver instead of gold, revealing everything sharp instead of soft. We stumbled into a hollow between rocks, shielded from the worst of the wind. Asher dropped first, sinking into the snow, his chest heaving. Kaia leaned against the stone, blade still in her hand, eyes never closing.

Lana’s POV Dawn pale light seeped into the sky a gentle hush that disturbed the night and a whisper that didn’t want to wake anyone. For a while, I lost track of time unaware of the darkness fading. The city’s hum outside had quieted into that strange, waiting stillness that only comes before morning fully arrives…before traffic begins, before people remember to exist again. The room was hushed a deep silence that seems to vibrate with anticipation. The soft glow began to seep across the floor, casting a warm glow on the glass walls, the furniture, finally resting on the edge of the bed ,where he lay.

Damian’s POV Dawn, when it finally came, was the kind that crept—not the dramatic sluice of gold you see in paintings, but the shy, reluctant light of winter. A nearly imperceptible shift: shadows thinning over hardwood, pale blue leaking across the city’s spires, as if the world, too, tiptoed for fear of disturbing her.

Diane Dawn is a betrayal. It doesn't bring light, only shades of gray, detailing with cruel precision the scene of my imprisonment: the cold gilding, the luxurious fabrics that smother, the slumbering silhouette of the monster in his armchair. His breathing is steady, deep. A light snore, almost human, escapes his lips. This normalcy is the worst insult.

Kora’s POV Dawn didn’t come gently. It broke across the horizon like a blade through cloth — gold and blood-red streaks slicing apart the last veil of night. I woke before the sun rose, heart already racing, the memory of battle still clinging to my skin like smoke. Around me, the camp was quieter than it had been in days. Not silent — never silent — but hushed, the kind of hush that comes after a storm when even the birds wait to see if it’s really over.

She lay there, unmoving, a breath away from the man who had changed everything—and yet still held back the one thing she truly needed: Truth. And truth had teeth. It would come. One way or another. Morning — Before Dawn The house still slept. Not even the birds had begun to sing. No sliver of light touched the windows. The air was hushed in the way only the final hour before sunrise could be—like the world was holding its breath. Leora rose in that silence. She didn’t rush. Didn’t hesitate.

[Dawn] “Dawn?” he asks, his voice soft but sharp, cutting through the quiet. His forest-green eyes lock onto mine, and the heat in them is devastating. It’s like they’re burning through every layer of my defenses, leaving me bare. The air between us feels alive—crackling, dangerous, and impossible to ignore. “Oh, I need the snacks… down… here.” My words stumble out, half a thought, because my brain is already foggy. I can feel his gaze on me, heavy and deliberate.
