After the Downfall
Pausing in the middle of yanking my jeans up my lithe legs, I almost fell forward at Silas’s revelation, but I caught myself at the last moment, a dresser nearby taking the brunt of my fall as I stuck my hand out just in time.
As I quickly zipped my jeans and did up the button, I considered what I’d witnessed for myself. Vaguely, I recalled thinking the acidic rain had been falling more than it had when I’d initially left the fallout shelter, but I didn’t have a huge time of reference to go on.
