Sometimes, though, my thoughts would drift back to the past, to those unforgettable moments that had carved themselves into my heart.

|Meelah’s POV| I start rounding up the exercise of decluttering my space because this is the first time I am getting back home at the normal closing hour instead of working overtime like I have been doing with Brian, only for my phone to start ringing, so I pause what I am doing to pick up the call. “Hey babes… how are you doing?” Eden says as soon as I pick up the video calls and before I can reply to her, the other girls join the call.

A maid brought us drinks and left. “Eden is the child of a maid who got preganant for the late Alpha. He wanted nothing to do with the pregnancy because he already was married so he chased her out of the house. She suffered to keep that child and when it was finally time for her birth, it was a long and painful one. Eden was born during a blue moon.” It was like she was expecting a reaction and we didn’t give her one. “You don’t know what that means, do you?”

The Hunter and I stand in a void, the chord's last note fading. "Did we win?" he asks. Before I can answer, the note *twists*. A fissure opens, vomiting forth a figure-Eden, whole and unharmed, his scars gone, his eyes clear. "Mom?" he whispers. The static in me goes silent. The Hunter aims his reborn gun. "Don't.
