I growl before releasing her and leaving the women’s bathroom. I was wrong. A pathetic, frightened little human like Aurora could never be Thorne’s mistress or lover. There has to be someone else, which means the intel my assistant found was probably wrong. When I arrive back at the dining hall, I scan the room once more for a she-wolf that might be Thorne’s lover. Thorne is now talking to Emma, Beta Jace’s sister. She laughs at something the Alpha said and touches his arm flirtatiously. Thorne doesn’t reject the contact, but he doesn’t accept it either.

The only difference I could notice between them is that Bella has a birthmark on her lower stomach but aside from that, there is no difference. Last night was just very for me. I got to see her body again, touch her, feel every part of her and the best of it was that she’s now gonna stay with me in my room just like old times. Everything will be exactly as planned. Shanaya was the youngest in the house and she was closest to Weston. Then Shanaya got a call and she got up and left. Maybe one of them moved it by mistake.” Bella, who still looked half broken from her punishment, let out a bitter laugh. She was leaning against one of the girls helping her, one arm pressed over her stomach. Every few breaths she winced, but somehow she still had venom. “How dare you come into our pack and accuse my sisters of being thieves just because you want to protect a servant,” Bella hissed. “Because he’s an omega like you.” My whole body went hot. “Calm down, Bella,” Tina shot back. “She’s saying you can’t accuse a man without proof.”

Logan seemed to be considering what Bella said as an option. “It would be easier to do that, but we have a lot on our table; we wouldn’t want a lovesick demon against us too.” He said, but Bella didn’t seem to agree to that. “I believe you can watch over her while I’m gone; she poses no threat — not with the toxin still in her system.” “I will be happy to watch over her.” Bella replied with a smile. She had changed— I noticed. All that had gone on between Thane and me had changed her, and now she was someone entirely different.

The only positive thing Verbena accomplished was teaching her children our language. Bella is a Goldenthorn through and through, though. When I first saw her, my breath caught in my throat. She looks just like her mother but is somehow even more beautiful. Yet, she refuses to claim her rightful place on the throne, choosing instead to be with that Lycan, another mut. They are the bane of my existence.

My gaze drifted past him without thinking, and of course — they were still staring. The two women at the next table hadn’t even tried to hide it. One of them still had her phone lifted, fingers frozen mid-air like she wasn’t sure whether to keep recording or pretend she hadn’t been caught. "Yes," I said quietly, forcing my eyes back to Owen. My joy wasn't fully complete because Thorne wasn't here. Where is he anyway? Or was... he by chance going to come in after Raven was done talking to me? They were enemies who couldn't stand each other, but it was really hilarious that they were taking turns talking to me. I felt like Bella from the popular movie Twilight. Call me a movie freak— I know I am. I cleared my throat, staring at the two dangerously handsome beings whose eyes were on mine, waiting for answers.
