She was locked onto the twins, blue light locking with blue light.
“You know what I want,” she said, voice suddenly flat and brutal. “Send me the lost sisters and I’ll spare the others.”
“Or what,” Zayla called, folding her own fear into a point sharp enough to pierce the chaos, “you’ll throw another tantrum?”
Bella was already moving, circling, pulling the focus. Zayla breathed, feeling for Ari, feeling for the well of power beneath her nerves. She let it rise, let it heat her bones.
