Cierra leaned harder and the chair creaked. Her chest tightened. Her breath became uneven. She shifted her weight again, more desperate this time as the chair tipped. It fell sideways with a loud crash, slamming into the floor and dragging her down with it. Pain exploded through her shoulder and hip as she hit the ground. “Then who?” He pointed toward the trees. The silver-eyed beings were back. But this time, they weren’t threatening. They knelt. The leader spoke again. “Open the scroll, Daughter of Chaos. Let the world remember what it chose to forget.” Ava stepped forward. The seal cracked beneath her fingers. The air shifted. And the truth, once locked away in velvet and flame, was finally ready to be spoken aloud.

A column of light rose from it, stretching upward like a spine made of moonlight. Then it morphed into a big circle before me, rippling like a whirlpool. Then it hovered in the air, spinning, beckoning.
