The Friend Trap

The Friend Trap

“I had a great time.” He said as he looked over to her in the car as he was driving back to the hospital so she could get her car. “So did I.,” she replied as she smiled. “If I had known, it was this easy to make friends. I would have tried long before now.” “It’s not most of the time.” He replied. “Sometimes, though, people just click like they were supposed to be your friend. Those friendships are normally the best.”

The Friendship Ledger

The Friendship Ledger

"Junior year of college, when that homewrecker confronted you in person, I fought her for you. I was written up by the school because of it. "And now?" Dylan gritted his teeth and stared straight into my eyes. "Just because I have stayed at your place for a few days, you are losing your temper at me like this. "Max Cairncross, after everything I have done for you, can you honestly say you are not ashamed?" Dylan was right. He had done a lot for me. Otherwise, we would never have become best friends for nearly twenty years. But friendship was mutual. I pushed his hand away and met his gaze, word by word.

My Best Friend’s Brother Is My Professor—And He Wants Me

My Best Friend’s Brother Is My Professor—And He Wants Me

I tell her as little as possible about why I’m back, only that the situation required hands that the board would trust. It’s easy in the way things are easy when both people have already finished the harder version of the story. At the end of it she adjusts the strap of her bag and looks at me directly. “So we’re friends?” I consider the word. Friends feels accurate enough for what remains. Anything more would be dishonest. Anything less would be unnecessarily cold. “Friends,” I say. She nods once, satisfied, and heads in the opposite direction down the hall.

My Best Friend's Brother

My Best Friend's Brother

When they reached the kitchen, Lily finally let go of her hand and threw open the pantry door with dramatic flair. “Guess what I still keep stocked just for you?” she announced, her eyes sparkling. She pulled out a bright red bag of kettle-cooked salt and vinegar chips. Maya’s jaw dropped. Then she let out a shaky laugh that turned into a sound halfway between a giggle and a sob. Her hand flew up to her chest as she felt tears sting her eyes. “Lily… you didn’t have to…” she whispered, her voice trembling. Lily stepped forward, serious now, and hugged her again. “Of course I did,” she said firmly. “I missed my best friend. You’re the only person in the world who would finish these with me wit

Claiming My Father’s Best Friend

Claiming My Father’s Best Friend

"On a Friday? No way. We're going out, and you'll tell me about Ava. She sounded like you both are besties now." "I can't go out tonight. And about Ava, it's work. I'm handling her new book." "She didn't say that. She told everyone you both are now friends. So, are you telling me a celebrity lied about being friends with you?" I spare her a quick glance. It's at the tip of my tongue to ask her why she's so invested in whatever Ava said. Lily has been my best and only friend for years. I don't remember a day I've gone without her. She knows everything that concerns me, like the back of her palm. And my parents love her like a second daughter. I rest my elbow on the desk, openly regarding her.

The Lost Alpha Princess

The Lost Alpha Princess

I sighed. I did miss my friend. One of us was always busy, and it felt like we were drifting further apart every day. There had to be a way for us to connect again. “We could go to the diner for burgers and then the bookstore sometime,” Amy suggested. “Turn the Page got a shipment of used books this week.” Yay! Amy must miss spending time with me too. And Turn the Page is the best used bookstore in the city. Amy and I went there several times a month in my old life.

My Best Friend’s Girl

My Best Friend’s Girl

FELIX. I’m a shitty person. I know I’ve always been a shitty person, but at least I wasn’t like that to the few people I care about—one of them being my best friend. But after getting myself involved with his ex-girlfriend, I’m just realizing what a shittier person I’ve turned into.

Such a good story I like how it’s starting with the Males POV because with most books we usually just get the females POV and I’m always wondering what the male is thinking feeling etc we get like a couple of chapters with the POV but it’s not enough so I love that the author has more of the Males.

False Best Friends

False Best Friends

“A good number but that’s not the case. You should see Neil…” “Stop comparing yourself to people.” She snapped, “You’re you, you’re the best of you. Value the people who like you for who you really are. Those girls flocking around Neil and Brandon are only after their money, their looks, their game and what they get on the bed; they don’t actually like them for them. One day, Neil and Brandon would get tired when they realize they have a lot of fakes in their lives, they would start to look for what you have; real friends, a stable life, true love. What they have currently won’t last, can’t you see that? Colton Adams, you are…” She stopped when he began crying. She hugged him. She was sure p

The Missing Best Friend

The Missing Best Friend

When I got home, Tristan was in the kitchen cooking. He looked up when I walked in and smiled. “You’re back? How was the trip?” “It went well.” I changed my shoes, set my suitcase aside, and walked over to him, glancing into the pot. It was my favorite pork ribs. “What’s the occasion?” I asked with a smile. “I missed you.” He turned and kissed my forehead. The second his lips touched my skin, my stomach lurched. The same hands that had killed my best friend were cooking for me.

Tasting my Best Friends

Tasting my Best Friends

"Elliot—" "Okay, brother, have a good day. Oh, and let me know if you want me to invest in that tiny business of yours." (I heard he joined a food truck) I smirked. "Might consider it… dumb idea." I whispered the last words as I walked away, just as I heard glass shatter behind me. Alexis and I have been friends for more than five years. She was easily manipulated, which worked to my advantage.
