Meanwhile, the zombies had already begun swarming up from below. The Soldatos immediately fired their submachine guns continuously, putting so many bullet holes in the attacking zombies they might as well have been sieves. Papa's back was broad and reliable in this apocalyptic world. I feared nothing as long as he was there beside me. When we finally rushed out of the apartment building, I realized that the scene outside was far more horrific than I had ever imagined. The streets were littered with burning vehicles and mangled corpses missing a limb or two, and zombies swarmed the streets in hordes.

He had continued on as if he hadn't felt a thing. Could something as elemental as fire really be able to stop something that had already been revived from death once? The zombie was still moaning his pitiful lament when Viktor had locked the warehouse door. Surely, only the intense heat generated in the heart of a furnace would be powerful enough to destroy this creature. As the son of a priest of Mortis, Viktor knew that it took a very high temperature to reduce a body to ashes. Holy scriptures always taught that fire could purify an evil place, but, rather contradictory as he had always thought, images from the realm of Mortis sometimes showed the territory of the damned consumed by fire.

--- The bunker doors close behind us, and I feel it—the weight of everything we're leaving behind. Safety. Comfort. The illusion that we could hide from this war forever. There's no hiding anymore. We're walking into the wasteland. Into the unknown. Into the fight of our lives. And we might not come back. --- The first hour is silent. Nobody talks. There's nothing to say. We've said everything we need to say. We've packed everything we need to pack. We've made our peace with the fact that some of us might not survive.

There was a letter on his desk. If he hadn't been a firm non-believer, he might have screamed on the spot. When he opened it and read the contents, a chill ran down his spine. Then, just as quickly, he let out a short laugh. Another one. People claiming the world was ending, disasters piling up, society collapsing, everyone doomed… They saw all kinds of things here. Some confessed the moment the handcuffs went on. Others came in rambling about supernatural powers, claiming they could speak to gods. All they needed was 50 pounds of oil and grain as an offering, and on New Year's Eve, the gods would send down an ark and give them a ticket off this planet.

But in an apocalypse, having a roof over one's head was already more than many dared dream of. Savannah froze. It had never once crossed her mind that something like this could happen. Even in the apocalypse, thanks to my protection, she'd lived like a princess who never had to lift a finger. The idea of moving to the East District was unthinkable. She packed her things and went straight to Edmund's place. Because she'd been secretly funneling him supplies for ages, he at least had a private single room.

So they just had to eat from any of the dishes they want. They talked and laugh, throwing insult at themselves at intervals. The movie came to an end minutes later "That was interesting" Nirvana commented "I know right" Aliya agreed "lets watch something else" she added and Nirvana nodded "What about Walking dead" Aliya suggested but Nirvana shook her head in disapproval "I see you're scared" Aliya teased "Since you're scared, lets go with annabelle" Aliya grin creepily "Fuck off" Nirvana snap and Aliya laugh

Firstly, I'd like to ask for your patience, this novel isn't a zombie-only apocalyptic book, as you read on, other elements will be dispensed. Secondly I'd like you to add this book to your library, that's if you haven't already done that, reason's because; unlike other books I didn't release the bomb(climax) in the fifth chapter or so like most authors do just before they lock it. I want you to be very expectant, cause all chapters are going to be climaxed, trust me. Finally, support me with your gems. This is my first book on this platform and I'd certainly need all the encouragements I can get. Thank you so much. HEARTS...

After that, I led Joyce back to our car. After the shopping spree, I chose not to let Walmart deliver the goods to my doorstep. Instead, I had the employees fill the car up with the food that I bought. After all, the neighbors would definitely suspect that something was going on if they were to notice the haul that I brought home. After the zombie outbreak, the most terrifying thing in the world wasn't the virus itself, but rather the dark side of humanity. Many survivors died in the hands of their allies during the early stage of the outbreak.

Dead bodies rapidly piled up. Ye Wuhen bent and looked down. He saw corpses piled up sky high, blood flowing into streams, the noise of slaughter ringing in his ears. Countless Immortals and Devils had been slain. Suddenly came a massive boom. Blood spluttered everywhere. The heavens and the earth seemed to be quaking. He saw in the distance the earth sundering and collapsing, mountain chains toppling, the sunset sinking. Even heaven and earth seemed to be breaking down. He seemed to have reached the era of Annihilation...

When I reached for the door handle, I glanced back at them. "Your car's destroyed. Want to come with me?" The moment those words left my mouth, their disappointment vanished. They hurried toward me, practically tripping over each other. Once in the car, they chewed on the protein bars I'd handed them, muttering to each other. "Told you. The boss has good instincts." I had enough food stockpiled to feed four adults until the end of the apocalypse. What worried me was human greed.
