Fairies froze where they stood. Raphael and Aurelia could only watch in paralyzed horror as Perseus' body contorted, bones reshaping with sickening crunches. His human form dissolved into something far more terrifying—a dragon three times the size of any natural shifter, its scales black as the void between stars. The moonlight seemed to bend around its enormous bulk as it rose to its full height, blocking out the sky. A single beat of those colossal wings sent warriors tumbling like leaves in a storm. Arrows meant for its hide shattered against impenetrable scales. The dragon shifters who moments ago had been advancing now stumbled back, their weapons slipping from suddenly numb fingers.

“I suppose it wanted a better hand.” Her heart fluttered when she saw him look at her suggestively “Hand… do you mean mine?” she asked, unsurely. “Yes, yours,” he said with certainty. “You’re dragon-kind, Elaina. Not just by blood, but by spirit and I think you are the perfect person to connect with it better.” Drake watched the interaction and he mentally nodded in approval. He too thought there was something special connecting Elaina with the ancient book. That would explain the glowing body and the strange things that happened when they read from it.

Mina scowled at the shifter's cold tone but without fear held her head high and approached the gigantic man. Murdok’s presence loomed over Mina, and she swore his breath was hotter than actual flames. The enormous dragon tucked his wings into his back as far as possible and shrank to his knees, still holding Rori like she weighed nothing. Mina watched as he bought her small body out away from him and as the witch put her healing hands over Rori’s still trembling body, she peered out from the corner of her eye and watched the tension wash away from the almost feral dragon shifters face as Rori made small satisfied cooing sounds. Mina licked her lips as she caught Murdok’s intense gaze. She pu

the humans and I thought coming as one of their tiny humans makes me less scary.” He said in my mind, with a shrug as he stepped from behind my sister. He looked at me and then his eyes turned emerald, green which was the color of his dragon Drax. He quickly got control of his dragon and looked in the direction of Mina. No please god no please don’t let him imprint on Mina. Being a dragon’s mate is not the same as it is here. “No I haven’t, what do you mean change?” “Her dragon’s eye changes to what looks like a wolf’s eye.” “That’s not possible.” “I know it shouldn’t be but I am sure I saw it.” Kat and I decide to call it quits for the day. She left me a lot to think about. Derek has taught me a lot about shifter history and Katla has taught me about the dragon history. No where did I read was a shifter or dragon able to shift into two different beings besides the lycans bloodline.

Most shapeshifters sealed a mating with a bite, odds were good they’d followed their desires and urges into a mate-bond. Neither one was raised by their own people and probably had no idea. I’d have to check his scent to confirm, but it seemed like they were already feeling the bond. The men fell still and stroked each other’s faces, having finished just after I entered the room. I wouldn’t tell them until either it was useful to me or became necessary. “Dragon. I’m finished with your offerings. Have you three completed your feeding?” I asked. “You couldn’t have taken a few more minutes?” Drayce asked.

King Kaida continues, "was a shape-shifter. She was not a werewolf shape-shifter, her kind was rare and special. even though I knew that it was wrong to fall in love with her, I couldn't help myself." Aria's eyes went to Prince Zane. At that moment she could relate to what had happened to him. "I was only allowed to marry a human but I wanted someone different, and she was in love with me too. please don't hate your dead mother for what she was." King Kaida begs. "what was she?" Prince Zane asks. Aria could hear how much he wanted to know. "She was a dragon shapeshifter." King Kaida reluctantly got the words out. "Zane, you are a hybrid, a half-dragon, and a half-vampire."

Hopefully you'll enjoy the next generation of Guardians as much as you enjoyed the first trilogy. Also, if you haven't tried it, I have a book out called The Arena. It's the first in the Elemental Dragons series. It's very different from this world of the Guardians. That book is filled with shifters and, you guessed it, dragons. That series is intended to have four books, one for each dragon.

"You challenge me? Little girl, I was killing betas while you were playing with dolls. I won't shift. I'll snap your neck in this skin." "Shift," I commanded. "Or I'll kill you where you stand." Something in my voice—the absolute certainty of it—made his laughter die. He narrowed his eyes, assessing me. Then, with a grunt of annoyance, he let it happen. The sound of his shift was wet and crunching. His body contorted, bones snapping and reshaping with practiced ease. He dropped to all fours, fur erupting from his skin in patches of brindled brown and grey. Within seconds, a massive wolf stood before me—heavy-set, scarred, with jaws that could crush a femur.

Women dragon shifters are now considered on the brink of extinction. Many would not find this disturbing in other races, have the men take up the shifter title and continue to mate with their true bonded mates. With dragons, it was different. Dragons were a different breed than most shifters. Without a female dragon, the magic will die in a few generations. There is no more fire, ice, or acid breathing, no more clothes to cover our bodies after a shift. Our bodies would break into pieces, just like any other shifter. Just a lizard with wings.
