Emotion swelled unexpectedly in his chest. “You know,” he said quietly, “I used to think ghosts would be terrifying if they were real.” A small, uncertain smile flickered across her lips. “But you…” He exhaled softly. “You’re the least scary thing I’ve ever seen.”

I hurried over and tapped the man. "Hey, are you okay?" My hand touched his back, and I froze. A chill ran through me. I turned him over. Every muscle in me locked up. It was the guy from 603. He had multiple stab wounds to the chest, blood soaking his clothes and the mattress beneath him. I nearly collapsed to the floor. What the hell was going on? "Are you out of your fucking mind?" A furious shout rang out from downstairs. It was Jacob. Worried he might run into the killer somewhere in the building, I pushed open the stairwell door and hurried downstairs. In the darkness, my foot struck something, and I nearly tumbled down the stairs.

Ria whispered yelled at her while holding her chest in shock. "I almost got a heart attack!" Ria tried to keep her voice down. “Hehe… I'm sorry. You can’t be serious!” “It’s a good read,” I defended myself. “There are other less depressing and boring genres you can read apart from this. Romance, thriller... you are too young to be reading this!” “I’m not into romance, fairy tales or horrors, especially not mythologies.” Ever since werewolves and vampires stopped being Halloween stories and became more real than fiction in my life, I just couldn’t read those kinds of books anymore.
