Moving in with him had taken a load off her mind.
After a long while, she set her sketchbook aside and turned her attention to a small stack of books on the table. She’d borrowed them from the library, one of which was a collection of classic stories and poems. She’d read somewhere that playing classical music for babies in the womb was good for them, and she figured a little Mozart and Bach couldn’t hurt.
She leaned back, switched on a playlist of gentle classical music, and placed the book in her lap, running her hand over her belly. “All right, my little darlings, you’ve been so good. It’s story time,” she said.
