Audiobooks Novels & Stories

If his bedroom looked like this, I didn’t want to even see the bathroom. It was one eighty degrees from the rest of the house. It wasn’t nasty. It was just chaotic. I decided an audiobook wasn’t what I needed. What I needed right now was to put on my relaxing playlist. A little Childish Gambino, Yuna, The Verve, Bruno Mars, and Maroon 5 were all I needed right now. A girl I knew in middle school noticed I had two songs on there when I got it for my thirteenth birthday. She was nice enough to load almost fifty songs on there. Varying from Rock to R&B. I added a few more songs on there over the years.

Wolf was so worried that he couldn't bear it: "What do you mean by understanding quietly?" It was done! Hooked. The old lady was very happy: "Grandma, I will show you a shortcut... Quick, go and help grandma get the phone..." Alpha immediately went and brought the old lady’s glasses. Putting on her glasses and taking the phone, the old lady clicked on it. “Grandma, what are you doing? Listening to audio novels?” The old lady clicked on an audio novel APP. “Well, reading books will strain your eyes, and listening to novels will make the room more noisy and lively, and you can also have fun. Nowadays, although novels are terrible, they are still very useful to pass the time..."

He said to himself, he listened carefully and everything seemed to slow down as he listened to catch the sound of Harmony’s heart beat which was coming from somewhere in the left direction. “Well...time for an adventure...” He said to Ichabod before proceeding towards the left direction.....

"There are voices of people that linger when their lives are unjustly taken from this earth," Crystal said. "Voices of blood, and people who can't get justice for themselves. These voices belong to the souls of the dead, and the innocent. They can haunt you, torment you, and even try to kill you if they are strong enough. They are like air. They can't be seen. They can't be touched. They can be felt, but mostly through one's hearing. They glide in the air. The strong wind can stop them, and so can fire. Nature doesn't necessarily stop them, but anything too loud for you to hear them can temporarily stop them. And that is why they are called whispers.

I realized I was listening for a couple of minutes already so I just decided to buy the cassette tapes and the player since I still had some loose money from my savings. When I got out, I took the cassette tape and put it inside the player, and strolled around as I was listening to it. I never really tried audiobooks back then since I was more of a visual learner, only to realize that audiobooks are great too. I let my feet take me anywhere they wanted to go as I let the time pass by me while listening to the audiobook... I felt peaceful. For a while, I felt like my mind wasn't in haywire, and I felt a little better than before.

Sophie. Morning. Hope you survived the gala and Carter’s temper. Sending you some links—audio books and podcasts. Not just Pilates, but history, politics, even Austen. You don’t need paper to learn, Amber. There are other ways. The words doubled and slid. I could read, I always could, but when nerves were bad the letters fought me, mocking. I tapped the text-to-speech icon. The phone’s voice was flat, but at least it didn’t laugh when my brain twisted words. Wellness. Pilates basics. U.S. history. Austen. Relief spread through me so fast I almost laughed.

Dina was in shock at the sight before her. Within the audio app were various tabs including, podcasts, music, audiobooks, soundscapes, ASMR recordings, and various others which on being clicked led one to a whole different area. The music tab had a search tab for finding music by artists or song names, another for searching fandoms and a forum specially made for music lovers. Other tabs followed pretty much the same format and finally was the special forum made for communication of the entire audio community. A shaky Dina looked over to Zero with sparkling eyes who nodded and without hesitation, she tapped and was thrown into a whole new world.

I wasn’t even sure if he’d gotten everything settled with his frat brothers when he drove me to the airport in the morning. I tried to let those thoughts fade away while on my flight home. I put in my earbuds and decided to listen to one of the smutty werewolf audio books Hana has gotten me hooked on, Alpha Gray by CJ Primer, with Theo and Maddie as narrators. The book is HOT, and Theo’s voice… yeah, it makes for an enjoyable two-and-a-half-hour flight. I love how he changes his voice when speaking for each Alpha. Hana told me they’ve done the narration for the rest of the series, and I can’t wait to listen.

It was a book they had read countless times, but each time, it held a new magic, a new wonder for Theo. “Once upon a time,” Hazel began, her voice soft and soothing, “there was a little bear named Barnaby who loved to go on adventures.” Theo’s eyes widened, his attention captivated by the story. He listened intently, his tiny fingers tracing the illustrations, his imagination soaring with each word Hazel spoke. The story of Barnaby the bear, his adventures in the forest, his encounters with talking squirrels and mischievous rabbits, filled the room with a sense of magic and wonder. Theo giggled at Barnaby’s antics, his heart filled with joy.

Realizing what he had done, he sighed, and his shoulders sagged. “Buckley watches documentaries on his laptop. As-“ His eyes went wide as they landed on his mother and her cocked eyebrow as she realized what he started to say. “He doesn’t know how to use headphones and we all get to listen to whatever he has on. Lately it’s been Greek and Roman history.” “At least you are learning something.” Jaxon laughed. “I sympathize.” Ty gave him a small salute. “There’s a guy on shift that listens to audiobooks. Let me correct that. There’s a guy that plays audiobooks for the rest of us.”
