LILA’S POV I pushed through the revolving door of Apex Media and the whispers hit me like a wave. Two interns at the coffee machine stopped talking the second they saw me. Three floors of shelves packed with ancient texts, scrolls, and documents. Some were so old the pages crumbled at the slightest touch. Gray was still recovering from the Shadow Clan's dark magic. The black veins had faded more, but he tired easily. He insisted on helping with the research anyway. "You should be resting," I said for the third time that morning.
