“What’s going on?”
She turned, her face tight with frustration. “Ma, they’re saying the venue’s been booked by someone else. We can’t shoot here.”
“What?” My voice sharpened, drawing curious glances from nearby guests. “You booked this place over a month ago. How is this possible?”
“I did!” Blessing insisted, her hands gesturing wildly. “I confirmed it last month and now they’re saying they’ll refund us. Right now, like it’s nothing!”
I pinched the bridge of my nose, fighting the urge to snap. “Excuse me,” I said to the receptionist, a young woman who avoided my gaze. “I need to speak to your manager. Now.”
