Her long blonde hair was disheveled, and her clothes were stained with blood as she walked in, barefoot. Alaric stood there for a long time. He momentarily forgot to come forward and ask after her. "They’re not my opponents," Mabel said with a smile as her vision darkened, and she staggered. "Call a doctor!" Alaric's breathing froze a little, and he rushed over to hold her in his arms.

I felt displeased that he was even speaking to her at all but then again, I reminded myself to put my emotions in check. The last thing I wanted was for Nox to know exactly how I felt. “This is Roman, my Beta.” Nox's deep voice announced but my focus was on the brunette extending her hand to shake Roman. ”Roman, this is Mabel Callister.” “Related to Alpha Jones Callister by any chance?” Roman asked. “Yes,” Mabel replied with glee, puffing out her chest a bit more and raising her chin. “I’m his daughter.” She said, proudly making me almost roll my eyes.

“Damn it.” I sink onto my stool and bury my face in my hands. How am I supposed to look Tyler in the eyes every day knowing something that will destroy him? How am I supposed to laugh with the twins? How am I supposed to celebrate birthdays, prom, or graduation knowing Mabel might not be here for the next one? My phone buzzes, and I wipe my eyes quickly. Tyler has sent me a picture of Mabel sitting upright in her hospital bed. She’s wearing one of those pale blue gowns, her hair is tucked behind her ears, and she looks tired. Thinner than she did even yesterday.

“Nonetheless, I acted wrong, and I promise, it will never happen again.” The news of Caitlin’s release brought shock upon Mabel. How the hell did that come to be? Just yesterday, she was convicted and locked up for a crime she clearly confessed to committing, and now today, she is being released as if it never happened. What the hell is going on? She asked herself as she went to the fields. Normally, she never interrupted Cillian while he trained, but this, this could not wait. “Hello, Mabel,” Cillian greeted as he took a break from his opponent. “I’m surprised to see you here.”

Cheryl stepped closer, lowering her voice. "So what if I was pretending? As long as Anthony believes it, that's enough. "Mabel, you're old. Your time is over. Zachary is dead. Those still alive have to move forward." She smiled maliciously. "Tell me, if Zachary knew his brother and his fiancée ended up together, would he crawl out of hell in rage?" Smack. Mabel slapped her hard across the face. "You're not worthy of saying his name." Cheryl's head snapped to the side. She covered her cheek, but instead of anger, a strange smile spread across her face.

Then she pressed her hand over her mouth and nodded and sat very still and looked like she was fighting several emotions at once.
