As I whirl around, eyes wide, lips swollen, I see Mabel stepping out of the water, covering her mouth with her hands. “Oh Mabel, hi,” I stutter, looking back at Chase, who hardly seems bothered at all. Pushing my hair back, I hope I don’t look too flustered. I’m sure I do though, and from Mabel’s end, all she sees is the Alpha and his assistant making out. “Sorry to interrupt,” she says slowly, twisting water out of her hair. “I was just curious about what was going on around this area, but I think I get it now.”

"I'm fine, I have good relationship with his father Cody Wilson, he helps me a lot and I success this time. Come on, I can always figure it out, right?" I smile, pretending that nothing has happened. Mable Bell, who's next to us, echoes, "Yes, as I said, she'll be fine. They are wife and husband, and she won't be hurt since it's just a quarrel." I can tell that Mable Bell indicates that something may happen to me. After all, she is convinced that the prophecies and curses she knows must all be true. Smiling, I reply, "I'm hungry, what about you? It's my treat today, let's go now."

Within a second, Mabel had switched from insulting him to talking about working together. "Do you really think there's a chance that we can work together?" Sebastian asked incredulously. Mabel raised her chin arrogantly at him. "We're all humans who value money more than anything. I don't believe you'd turn down an offer to earn more money." "Ah, you see, I just happen to be someone who doesn't care about money," Sebastian replied with a grin.

The last thing I need right now is to relive anything involving her. “What do you want, Gladys?” I ask. Her smile fades, and she gives me a serious look. “This isn’t something you can win, Cas. You see Mabel as a spoiled child, but you’re underestimating her. Don’t make that mistake. This goes beyond you. Way beyond. You should take the deal Mike’s offering. Mabel’s his wife, and without him, she doesn’t have the power. He’s the only one who can pull the rug out from under her.”

There was laughter, bad dancing, and the promise of a peaceful weekend. Until Mabel arrived. “You okay, cuz? You look like you have just been from a battle instead of a fashion show.” “I am okay although I do feel like I battled a beast. Is the food any good?” “Yep, yum, yum.yummy in my tum,tum, tummy. By the way, have you seen Devlin?” “The devil or I meant Devlin? Maybe he went to his hell hole for all I care.” Mabel stood and went to get some food. The trio at the table chuckled. “What’s up with Mabel? She looked distracted. “ “She is always distracted ever since your father’s partner was around. Do you think he is hitting on her?”

I told her but she shook her head, not wanting to listen to anything I was saying. "The devil and angel illustration you just gave is nothing sensible. You aren't the devil, you are Stefan and I know your job, I know what you love doing. Look, I really don't want our relationship to cross from the friendship thing we are keeping, so please, just forget about the confusion you are trying to create between us and let's more on with our lives." Mabel turned back and walked to the bed, she laid down and pulled the duvet allover her body, she even hid her face under the duvet, but I wasn't ready to give up.

I made sure to maintain eye contact with her and give her a firm handshake. Abigail on the other hand, maintained her frown and kept her lips in a thin line.
