Seeing him happy like that made me worry a little less than I did earlier, until Billy jumped off the bed and said something very disturbing. ‘What if Sharon is not dead?’ He asked me, his face wide with horror. ‘What do you mean?’ I was beginning to shake. ‘What if as soon as you left, Sharon got up and stopped the bleeding in time to call the police?’ ‘Please don’t say that Billy, because if she is not dead, then I am. She saw me.
