I go upstairs to get changed and put on a bulletproof vest underneath my tux, luckily for us this is a masked party and we will be able to blend in well. I picked out two full face masks which have no facial expressions on them. After I am done getting ready I head down and hand Brian his mask, “Really sir? You couldn't get something that I could breathe in?” I give Brian a look of disappointment and he takes the mask from me, “Do you want those mother fuckers to figure out who we are?”

“Let’s just go, man. We can roll the windows down on the drive. Let that October air cool you down.” “Yeah, okay.” Three beers and a twenty-minute car ride later, Billy was feeling more relaxed. He entered the party hearing cheers for his elaborate Beetlejuice costume, and Chuck got the disgusted, yet good-natured reactions he was hoping for. The mess of blood and intestines hanging from the stomach of his best friend had turned out to be some of Billy’s best work. Billy scanned the crowd for Bev Smallwood but saw no sign of her. Perhaps she was one of the masked partygoers.

She replied and, like a mother, she held my hand and pulled me to the corner where a man sells vagina masks. “Need pretty masks for the party, I got the best”. The man was American, I could tell that from his accent. “Give us two”. Laura said. The man selected two masks from the pile of masks on his table. “Have this”. He handed the masks to Laura. “Three cents”. Laura took the masks from him and dropped a dollar bill on the man’s desk. “Here is three cents and a tip”. She turned to me and handed one of the masks to me. “Have your mask, Betty”.

I released a breath and tugged down my black feathered mask. My mask was an essential part of my night job as DJ Butterfly. I wore it because it not only gave me some form of anonymity, it allowed me to pretend that I was someone else, at least for a while. Behind the turntable and the mask I was Butterfly, confident, sexy, not-at-all-in-debt-with-a-technically-dead-sister-in-the-hospital. As Butterfly I could pretend to love my too-sharp curves and my big mouth that didn't mind spewing whatever I was thinking when provoked.

It was elegant and terrifying. We approached a woman seated behind a sleek glass desk. Her face was expressionless. When she saw Mr. Everhart, she stood quickly and bowed, deeply, reverently, before sliding something across the counter: a mask. Without hesitation, Mr. Everhart took it. The mask was white porcelain, etched with subtle obsidian lines. He placed it over his face and pinned a silver tag to his lapel. The name engraved on it was, Alpha. He turned to me “You won’t be needing this yet,” he said quietly, though his eyes behind the mask were unreadable.

Hope fledged inside of him and he wasn’t afraid anymore. “It’s alright, Junior, I will take it from here,” he assured the lad but he was about to say something again when Allan shifted his focus to the man behind the mask. “King Mask, if I have your word, then I will remove my silicone mask now.” The robotic voice sounded, “go ahead.”

I asked. "You want to kill who,do you think he is like every other person, well,Simon's junior brother I went to see yesterday is the one and only masked multi billionaire". He broke the ice. " What??? Masked multi billionaire?? Me? Why??" I stuttered in shock. "Can you see that you are in big trouble, he is going to stop at nothing to search for you,the only advice I can give you is to hide pending the time I will find a solution". He said but I remained mute.
