Billy walked closer to us, his eyes darting from one person to the next. “We were watching a horror movie before you walked in,” I explained. “Which one?” Billy’s lips rose in a smile. The tense look replaced by laugh lines. “The Hills Have Eyes, we watched both of them.” He laughed and sat on the table facing us. “That scared Joe pretty good too. The first one isn’t as bad as the second.” “What’s so funny?” Joe walked into the room and threw Billy a shirt. “They watched your favorite movie,” Billy said between laughs. He pulled the shirt over his head and picked up the bottle of whiskey on the table and gulped down some of it.

I observed. "You know nothing about me," he retorted. "I know more than you think," I challenged. Billy was malleable, a follower who aligned himself with whoever promised the best chance of survival. Like me, he had grown up in the trailer park, but after gaining Ray's favor, his family had mysteriously acquired a home far removed from the squalor of my upbringing. "Tell me, Billy, what's the going rate for your loyalty these days?" His growl conveyed tension, and for a moment, it felt like my wolf was awakening. I hoped she was stirring, ready to assist me in escaping this predicament.

Billy exclaimed in surprise. "Are you Billy Dacosta?" Wolf didn't acknowledge Zoe at all, pretending not to know her. "Oh, right." Billy extended his hand, and Wolf reluctantly shook it to avoid suspicion. "I don't know what you're up to, but you're blocking the way." Billy stood in front of the elevator, blocking the way, as Wolf pointed to it. "Ah, I didn't..." Billy was now embarrassed. He was not sure how to explain, realizing that Wolf had just caught him pulling someone's hair. But Wolf pretended not to care and only mentioned something that bothered him—blocking the way.

He shook his head when Billy stretched his hands out bringing his father’s notice ‘a blue band’ that was placed around his wrist. The same kind of band that is put up on a baby’s wrist when he comes to life in the hospital by the staff. “What is this around your wrist?” Raven tried to hold his hands still in his but no way possible! He noticed there was something written on the blue band. And just as he sat his eyes on the writing, his pupils grew wide in daze. ‘BILLY, THE GOD’S CHILD.’ No sooner have he read that than a force pulled him back. “Bil-Billy!” Raven struggled to stand still however it was too late. “Huh!” He blinked vigorously looking everywhere and, he was back to where he was

Back then, I thought I was being punished every time happiness appeared and something followed to ruin it. Now I wondered if maybe I had been mistaking discomfort for disaster. Maybe life wasn’t cursing me. Maybe it was just refusing to let me avoid myself. Billy shifted again and opened his eyes this time. “You’re not sleeping,” he observed. “No.” He studied me for a moment. “Roman?” he asked gently. I nodded. “He’s leaving town.” Billy’s expression didn’t harden. It didn’t change much at all. “Okay,” he said quietly. “He said he doesn’t want me choosing him out of pressure.”

Billy nodded once and walked out of the bar without looking back. The truth was simple, Billy had a ban in LA.He could not enter the city, well not without triggering consequences he had worked too hard to avoid. He stepped outside into the cold night air and pulled out his phone. Then he dialed a number. The line connected quickly. “Yeah?” a voice answered. “I want you to do something for me,” Billy said calmly. “There’s someone in LA.” He gave no more details out loud. Just enough.Then he hung up. —

Billy nods then moves toward me, carefully grabbing me by the hips and lifting me to where I sit on the other side of the counter. The intimate gesture reminds me so much of Nolan that I have to close my eyes and force my memories back. “Sorry, you just look like you’re going to fall over.” I nod to show my thanks and sink into the quiet. “Do you want me to read them?” Billy asks. “Yes, please. I don’t know if I can look.” “Okay.” I watch as he picks up the two plastic tests, and I hold my breath. “Uh, well. I’m not sure what this means. One says positive and the other says negative.”

" Billy started to say, stuttering. He got nervous. I began to worry about what the hell it would be. -He said it would set off your libido. -Billy said, looking away. -But don't worry, you can control it. -What? -I started screaming, I was furious. Witches never did anything just for the sake of it. This must have been done on purpose. My rage went through me and I was about to beat Billy to a pulp. The strength began to return to my body, I knew it when I was able to get up to want to hit him and beat him up. Karly jumped on me, preventing me from going to take revenge. She threw herself on me and staggered me. She held on. -I won't let you hit him, it was for your own good.

The book has a cover of 4 cubs eating honey. Anyone who saw the book would have thought that it was a children's book, not an important book detailing the ins and outs of the Walters family.

Hoping Alison might be able to explain, I get up, glaring at William, who is too wrapped up in Carrie he doesn't notice anyway. Alison follows me upstairs and into my room, running her fingers along the spines of my books as she reads the titles. "What's going on down there?" After what feels like an eternity of waiting, I finally snap and ask her. "Billy's got a plan to show your mum what his dad's really like so she dumps him. I'm sorry, I actually think you seem pretty cool and I don't want you or your mum to get hurt." She gives me a sympathetic smile, coming to sit on my bed next to me. "William's a dick though, or at least that's all he's concerned about. His dick."
