Arthur's POV I hesitated at the warrior's words but then I agreed. “Fine but you better make it quick.” We walked outside and then the warrior began to speak. “Gamma you're not going to believe me when I tell you this but the Beta is dead.” I froze up immediately, “What do you mean? Zaria is clearly alive.” “When we were at the battle front, I was trying to find a leeway so I hid somewhere and found the Beta get stabbed by some woman who I'm guessing is a witch.”

I loved reading books, when I schooled with the normals, I ate up all their stories. I grabbed a book from the shelf, turning it over to read it. “Ancient Spell Casting,” I read out loudly. Donae waved her hand, and the book left mine suddenly, returning to its spot on the shelves. “Sorry, I was curious,” I said, walking over to her bench. She rarely spoke, I realized. “What's a hilly billy?” I asked her. “ A hilly billy is a plant that cures blindness. It's gotten from Hell.”, she spoke calmly.

Billy chuckled as he sat down on the couch not too far from the huge TV. We all looked at each other and I intentionally glanced at my mom and Jade. “He…um, kinda has grounds.” “Ho–how?” “Well…Jade and my mom might have poisoned his wife and he found out; which is why he and his daughter are trying to kill us.” Billy cursed under his breath. He was shocked. He cleared his throat and then spoke, “Okay, that means that he does have grounds. Is there anything else I should know before we start working on the applications?”

When the call ended Billy turned to me, and the look he gave me made me know that he wasn’t going to let me be till I told him what was going on. “You have to tell me what’s going on. I have to know because I am a brother. Who knows maybe we can be of help,” Billy said with a concerned look on his face. “Uhm…” I said and looked at Lilian and Billy followed my line of vision only to see that I was looking at Lilian. “Don’t worry Lilian is the Elder of our pack and she is also our head doctor,” Billy said. I wondered how an Elder could be a doctor too, but either way, it was nice.

I thought I had to defend her against your arrogance, but starting today, I will step aside and watch her crushing you down. That woman knows how to defend herself!” Billy turned to his father. “Dad, I will go to the office a little early this morning. So, I’ll see you later!”

“I came by to drop off some groceries. I didn’t plan to come in. I saw a man enter the villa before the gate closed. I recognized him.” My fingers tightened around the edge of the table. “You knew it was Roman?” “Yes,” Billy said quietly. “I’ve seen him enough times. I didn’t want to interfere, so I left.” For a moment, the room felt smaller. “So you didn’t come in because of him,” I said. “No,” Billy replied. “I came today because of something else.” He reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. “Have you seen the news?” I shook my head slowly. “I’ve been trying to avoid everything related to… that world.”
