The Hybrid's Hope
‘I’d like to see my father too,’ Qadira says in our mind space, watching him.
“Qadira would like to see your bear, her father, too,” I tell him.
“You already did, little hybrid,” he says, but his voice is deeper, making me think it’s his bear speaking now.
“Not in any way that we could get to know him or you,” I say. “And you still haven’t given me your name.”
“Bjorn and my bear is Asbjorn.”
“Nice to meet you,” I say.
As we get closer to his den, I catch the scents of several other creatures. I say creatures because they smell like me, like true hybrids.
