By the time it was ready to attack, Yusuf and Lukas were already aiming at it and its surprised companions. The sound of their rifles firing echoed throughout the alley. Mounds of sand fell to the ground and vaporized to thin air. The Black Entity was neutralized, now they could move on. They came across an intersection. The eastern street was lit up in sporadic explosions while the western street was illuminated by strobing gunfire. Both routes are dangerous, but the road ahead was under guard by a group of black furred Aswangs. Lukas never understood the meaning behind the colors of their fur but he made a mental note to ask the pathologists later about it, assuming that he survives this.

That just … can’t be good. I shot a look at Ryan and his face was all over the map. He had absolutely no poker face and you could read his thoughts on his face. Well, I could at any rate. “I am Ash Black, the werewolf representative on the council. I believe I met you before,” the male said, pointing to Ryan. “Yes sir, briefly,” Ryan said. At least he was smart enough to be polite, the moron. Ryan and I were completely opposite people, raised differently and had totally different outlooks on life. So why the fuck was I sitting here with him, about to beg the leaders of our world for a favor you might ask?

Ace came in, tossing a folder onto the table. “You might want to see this before you make that call.” Inside were photos of trucks, shipments, faces blurred out, all marked with a familiar patch; the Black Ravens. Cole, standing behind Jax, frowned. “You gotta be kidding me. The Black Ravens? They are the kind of bastards who sell their own brothers for a fix.” Nolan leaned forward. “They are not loyal. But they have got routes we need.”

I’m not sure what strategy they employed for offense, but it’s clearly not working for them.
