I couldn't move a limb in my body. My dad was lying in her arms all covered in blood. His neck was cut open with crimson blood still seeping out. The pain that my mother was suffering from broke me. I couldn't bear to see her in this condition anymore and just moved to my room to cry my eyes out for her loss. I don't know why I was never that close to my father. Something always kept me on edge. I knew he was a werewolf and my mother was a human, but that never explained the fact why I was a white wolf. How could I be when my dad was only a normal werewolf? Where did I get those traits from? It then next displayed when I bought my house and lived alone ever since. "It's not fair!" I whispered, tears squeezing out of my eyes. "It's the world, Becca. Black might be your brightest colour. Bullying might shield you from hurt, turns out hurt is your only lover." She whispered, too, nowhere to be seen. My mind flashed, invisible lights in the room flickering, dimming, the walls closing. What was happening? "Are you sure?" I heard her ask. "Sure of what? What's happening?" "Isn't there anyone who can turn your tables. Didn't you meet a certain him that made you feel different, alive? Loved?"

- River lies on his couch, pondering the ceiling while E Business plays on the television set—showing an ad for some random moisturizer. He checks his phone, then lays it back on his chest, not even a grimace on his face for he was too weary. A second later, the advertisement finishes and begins playing live coverage of Sebastian Black, speaking to the press outside of the Black & Co. building.

~TOBY~ The noise got louder when the real races started. Engines thundered. The fence vibrated under my hands as I gripped the metal wire. The smell of hot rubber and gas was thick in the air. I wanted to shrink back into the crowd, but then Alan rolled out onto the track. He looked different in his cool black racing gear. He looks bigger and Focused. The flag dropped, and the bikes shot forward. I couldn’t look away. Alan leaned so low into the turns his knee almost brushed the ground. He didn't look scared at all.

It was rusted and you could not read it. Lina turned right. The lights behind her went away. "My light is out," a man said. His voice bounced off the stone. "Use the thermal." "Thermal is blind." "Check the radio." There was only static. "She went straight," the second man said. "Back to the water. Move out." The splashing went away until there was nothing. Lina stayed in the black. She waited a long time. Her legs felt heavy. When the only sound left was the dripping water, she walked back.

I stared at Adrian, still trying to figure him out. My brain refused to process anything. My room… but not my house. My bed… but not my street. My posters… but definitely not my peeling ceiling. It felt like stepping into a parallel universe sponsored by a billionaire with too much money and absolutely zero boundaries. I slowly turned back to Adrian. He looked annoyingly calm, like people reconstructed entire bedrooms from memory every day. “Mr Blackwell, we are not close enough for me to invite you into my room, right? So how do you know what my room looks like?”
