Around me, the others were doing the same. Vanya and Susan looked like bulky, taped-up ghosts in their oversized coats. Atlas and Denzel had found a few heavy canvas duffel bags in the back room, which they systematically packed with every remaining bottle of clean water, jar of preserved meat, and roll of medical bandages.
"Jill, here," Alexander said, tossing a sturdy canvas backpack onto the table.
Jill flinched, staring at the bag. Inside rested the heavy shortwave radio. "You want me to carry this? It weighs a ton!"
