The man fell to the ground, screaming in pain while Ares just rolled his eyes and threw the eyeball on the ground and stomped on it because squatting in front of the man. He grabbed the man by the hair and lifted his head up so they were eye leveled. “I told you I don’t do second chances but you are someone I’ve known for so long so I don’t want to kill you off just like that but if you don’t find a way to get me rid of this demon the next time we meet, I won’t just be taking away your other eye but also your life. Got that?” He pushed the man to the ground as he stood up then turned to Cornelius with a groan.

Frowning, I watch as he stalks onto the sand, reaches down and grabs two handfuls before coming back to stand in front of the table. "Here's an analogy for how much Demon blood you have..." he says. I breathe out loosely. This should be interesting. “Imagine this is a full blooded Demon. Only one such creature exists like that now, who is actually alive, and not cursed unground somewhere." He dumps an entire handful of sand onto the table, a few granules skittering across the surface toward me. I swallow uncomfortably, hating the sound of someone all powerful like that. "Wait-"

Yman's body was enveloped by black mana as he was slowly pushing his body to get up. The Noble Rat wondered if this person just playing dead a moment ago. Never did the Noble Rat expected for this human to hide such a card up his sleeves. He was dying just a moment ago, but now, his body had something weird on it. The current Yman has ears the same as the Noble Rat but it colored like black smoke. His hands have black long nails but the sizes and forms were the same as that of the Noble Rat and his eyes had turned red, but in this state, his vision was unhindered in this dark surroundings. He even has a black tail grown on its back the same as the Noble rat.

But my mom just smiled. “That’s my girl.” I smiled proudly. “But what is that?” She picked me up and walked over to her bookcase, she pulled out a really old book and opened it. On the page was a man with horns on his head and a long tail. “So, a demon is usually a very strong being. One who will use tricks and magic to punish anyone who makes them angry. Many people are afraid of them, because they are really strong and don’t show mercy to their enemies.”

Something worse. He stands roughly two inches taller than me. His black hair is combed back. Slick with gel. His color scheme is black and white. Like a panda. But nothing like said animal. He walks with vigor and a domineering prowess. But what kicks everything into limbo is his face. It sharp. Too sharp. It seems to be made of porcelain. Almost as white as my skin. But something else. Like it's been bleached. Bleached with so many chemicals it has no hope of returning to any healthy color. His eyes are grey. Almost like storm clouds. No. Nothing like storm clouds. I know that color too well. It can only be described in my words as the color of dead elephant skin.

His true amber eyes were dim, shadowed with deep, crushing exhaustion, looking at me with immense sorrow. "Gideon" I cried, lunging forward across the cracked earth. Before I could reach him, a sudden, deafening roar tore through the sky. A towering wave of void fire erupted from the earth between us, solidifying into a massive, shadowy silhouette eight feet tall. The demon stood before me. It had no true face, only a swirling vortex of jagged, violet smoke and ancient, cold eyes that burned with anger. The air around it was so cold that the ash falling from the sky froze mid air into fine black needles.

The weapons glowed with strange symbols. "What–" Maddie began but started to cough. Smoke had filled the room. The burning demon was still running around the diner. The other three demons were crouched, and growling like rabid dogs, their saucerlike eyes glowing with a manic light. One of them let out a loud howl like a wolf and pounced towards Cassie. She screamed and there was a sudden hot burst of light as the sword in her hand blazed up. Cassie leaped forward, sweeping her weapon at the demon, her skirt billowing behind her. My jaw clenched and I exhaled nothing less than the sound of a growl. Looking in my rearview mirror before getting out, I noticed the color of my eyes had changed to black. They only turn black when I let my demon out, the demon that craves the sound of screams, the smell of blood, the sight of fear in someone’s eyes, the feeling of their bones crushing in my bare hands. It had been a while since I had done any good and decent torture - Bradley and his group of thugs seemed like a great place to cure that craving.
