I asked her. I felt like a total piece of shit because I had been so focused on Jadelynn lately that I was not being a great brother to her. Taylor was involved in a car accident last year that paralyzed him from the waist down. He was a great guy who truly loved his family. He had been one of our head trackers before the accident. Upon arriving at the hotel, John and Bruce went straight to the room used as an office. Bruce turned on his laptop, and a few minutes later, the information began to come in. The sound of the keys being pressed seemed to echo louder than usual. John stood there impatiently, pacing back and forth with his fists clenched. The image of Elizabeth smiling at another man had unsettled him so much that he couldn’t control his breathing, and his heart ached. “His name is Steve Taylor,” said Bruce, pausing briefly before continuing. “He’s the owner of the hotel where we’re staying…”

Taylor shook his head as he recalled what happened. He immediately clenched his teeth and said with a vicious look in his eyes, "Damn, if I, Taylor Webster, don't kill that bastard, then I'll change my name." "Mister Webster, that guy was so fierce," the girl whined meekly. Gunner clenched his teeth and said, "Just wait and see." After that, Gunner took out his phone and made a call, "Gunner Leech, bring your men to the Pearl of the Sea right now. I want someone dead."

Conversation along one side of the bay softened almost at once. “Mr. Taylor’s here,” someone said behind her. Another voice answered, more surprised, “Here?” Serena’s hand stilled on the tablet before she looked toward the entrance. Damian had just walked onto the development floor. He wore a dark suit that looked entirely out of place among diagnostic equipment, tire carts and technicians in work clothes, yet somehow the room adjusted itself around him rather than the other way around. A Street Nation executive walked beside him, speaking quietly, while Miles Gibson had suddenly discovered a level of posture Serena hadn’t known he possessed.

The knowing glint in his eyes told me everything that I suspected. “You’re saying…” I started but then stopped; I couldn’t get my hopes up. It would only leave me gutted if it turned out not to be true. I sighed and leaned back in my seat. “I’ll be there.”

John yelled as he pushed the corpse off his body. Cooper took a closer look and felt his heart sink. “He… he’s one of the famous assassins, Tiger.” John was shocked. “Assassin… the mission failed.
