I just sat there, staring out the window as the city blurred past us, accepting whatever fate awaited me. I raised a trembling hand to my mouth, wiping away the blood that still dripped from the corner of my lips. My cheek throbbed, swollen and red from the force of Aiden’s earlier blow. The pain was sharp, a constant reminder of how far things had gone, of how deeply we had hurt each other. I could feel Aiden’s gaze burning into me, but I didn’t turn to meet it. Instead, I kept my eyes on the passing scenery, trying to distract myself from the suffocating tension in the car.

“This is Blaz Flame. This kind of fire can burn a person even if they are in armor.” “There are different kinds of fires?” Anna frowns. “A dragon can create three kinds of fires,” Lavi explains. “In human form, we can create the Blaz Flame and the Cold Flame. Cold Flame is the regular kind of fire which we see in every household. It can burn down a human but supernatural creatures can recover from it. A Blaz Flame is more dangerous. Any area burnt with this flame will result in instant death. Luckily, this flame does not have a long range. It is only for enemies who are up close.”

The next shot rings out. Control snapped as always sending heat coursing through my blood. The pain always feels so real. Flames leap across my vision. The ground below me turning to ash. The tree turned to char as the flames dance across the branches. Swallowing it whole. The swing falls and crumbles. Seeing the house begin to burn, the flowers long gone, the fire blazes around me, and my world goes black. Pain is the strongest reminder I was there. I open my eyes and look at my surroundings. Ashe covers the metal in black smudges. Yeah, I’m home. Letting my breathing return to normal I reach out and unlock the handle and push on the iron door.

Some eyes looked at her silently. Sylvia was violently thrown onto the trunk of the truck, her head smacking the ground with blood. Her whole body convulsed, shaking violently. Sweat beaded her forehead, she strained her eyes to look around as if it were useless. There was only darkness and the strong smell of cigarettes. The car door swung open, and the henchman nodded at Liam's announcement. "Sir, done."

I didn't catch the eye of most because I was known to be wolfless and the fact that wasn't the case actually made me giggle a little thinking about it. Walking into the diner I was a bit suprised to see not only Duke and Flint sitting about midway through the diner but the brothers from the other pack sitting with them. I chuckled thinking it was probaly them leaving the note as a stupid prank or warning. I walked in fully planning just to step into the office and talk to Mama Rose. "What you doing here rouge? begging for scraps." Flint hollered at me. I rolled my eyes, it was so obvious when he used rouge as a term not my name and I knew he was looking for a reaction from me. A shattered windshield. Then I saw fire. A small orange flame came from the hood. Black, oily smoke started to rise, coming up the cliff. My eyes became blurry. "ISABELLA!" I screamed.

A flicker passed through the air. Not shock. Not fear. Understanding. “There are no divisions.” “No structure.” “No protection.” The ground beneath them trembled slightly. “The last one standing will be the victor.” Another pause. “And the victor will be granted one wish.” Silence returned. Heavy. Absolute. Then one final word. “Begin.” Everything shattered. Power erupted in every direction at once. The ground split apart as one of the devils launched forward instantly, striking toward the nearest angel with explosive force. Light clashed against darkness, sending a shockwave through the battlefield that fractured the floating terrain even further.

At any cost. Rose swallowed hard, seeing the unshed tears in his eyes. A madness in that gaze, fear of losing her. She cupped his face and held her gaze. “You are a flame of sin, Vladimir, Who burns everything around him. And I decided to stay away from you the moment I opened my eyes.” She inhaled sharply seeing his eyes, “But it didn’t let me in peace. I felt like a moth, pulling into your flames. Again and again. That’s what I have become. That’s what you made out of me. It’s better to burn in your flames with you than live without you.”

In the silence Taryn heard something, like two wings flapping, the noise was not the same as the wings of a simple bird. Taryn looked up at the sky and before her eyes a huge flame formed that illuminated everything around her. Taryn did not have time to think, did not have time to notice that the blaze was directed towards her and even less did she have time to act that she immediately found herself thrown to the ground. Elhias had overwhelmed her, throwing her to the side and avoiding the flame, covered the heads of both with his arms, protecting herself from the heat of it.

was burning. The first footage came from a tourist’s drone, luckily flying at dawn, capturing the initial plumes of thick, black smoke coiling from the structure’s flat roof like serpents. Then, as the sun crested the mountains, the professional news choppers arrived, their cameras broadcasting the conflagration in high-definition to a mesmerized world. The flames were not the warm, orange glow of a hearth; they were an infernal, chemical blue and searing white, feeding on the expensive art, the rare manuscripts, the polished concrete and imported teak. It was a clean, violent purge.
