POV: Rory Hale The car halted so suddenly I almost smacked my forehead on the window. “This is it,” the woman in the black suit stated casually, like she wasn’t throwing me into the jaws of something I didn’t understand. I lifted my eyes and my chest clenched. The Academy wasn’t a school. It was a monster with stone skin. Gothic spires rose against the stormy sky, their sharp edges piercing into the clouds. Black iron gates curved with symbols I couldn’t read. Mist clung to the broad woodland surrounding it, thick enough to cover anythingwolves, shadows, maybe even bodies.

'B-Blackwater.' Adrian stopped moving. His wolf slammed violently against the walls of his consciousness and released a roar that bordered on madness. "What? It's not you?" The Alpha beside him blurted out the words before he could stop himself. Another werewolf's face drained of color. "Wait a second. Blackwater? So BW stands for Blackwater Pack?" The group exchanged stunned looks. At last, they realized the truth. The color slowly disappeared from every one of their faces.

Risel looked back at me and gave the smallest nod — permission, or maybe just resignation. It wasn't fair to keep hiding it from her. Not after everything she'd already done for me without asking a single question in return. "Alpha Dave — of the Adrastea Moon Pack — has opened an interrogation. About a black wolf. Here. At this school." Talia's mouth fell open. "Wait. There's a black wolf at Shawls? Those are banned. Their power is supposed to be—" She stopped mid-sentence. Her eyes narrowed, working it out in real time, gears turning almost visibly behind them. "Wait. How is that a problem for you, unless—"

Eric- “What is up?” I asked Brook after she asked me to come to see her in Tate’s office. “I need you to be in Blackwater, Colorado by tomorrow night.” Brook said, getting straight to the point. I tried not to groan. It has been a little over two months and we haven’t been successful with helping anyone. Most that contacted the website had been just a waste of time. Just teens messing around and sending me on a wild hunt.

Dera and her mom entered the other car as they drove to Frost Academy. Dera POV I plugged my headphones as I listened to You should be sad by Halsey. I saw as we passed some big buildings and even some schools , we passed Pearl Academy , Hallel college Blossom highschool. Then my mom shook me as we came down from the car. Woah....... This School was big!!! It was painted blue and white , there was a water fountain at the middle and some students roaming around the school. The school was to resume next week but as a boarder, you have to resume a week earlier.

“I hate this academy.” “Everyone does,” Soreya said. “The successful ones just learn to hate it productively.” They left the Hollow Residence together and crossed the lower path toward the central medical wing. The academy looked different in this false morning light. Less haunted at first glance, more architectural. The black stone towers rose against the dim crimson sky, and the silver-veined paths glimmered beneath their feet.

"9th and Elm. The 24-hour laundromat. Twenty minutes." Lina sat on a plastic chair, watching the washers spin. The door chimed. Trent walked in, dripping wet, and dropped into the seat next to her. Lina kept her eyes on the glass. "You’ve got a target on your back, Trent." "Then let’s move the target." Trent slid his hand into his jacket and slammed the silver USB onto the vibrating washer. "Gabe’s life is in this metal," Trent whispered. "His raw voice ordering the blackout for Madame Cleo. And the routing path to his offshore cash."

She had not expected them to say yes. Blackwood Academy was not for girls like her. It was not for Omegas without a pack, without a family name, without anything but a secondhand uniform and enough stubbornness to pass every entrance exam they threw at her. It was for wolves with bloodlines so old the forest remembered their names. It was for the heirs and the powerful and the chosen. She read the letter three times. Full scholarship. Housing included. Start date: September first. Her fingers were shaking when she set it down.
