He was in the doorway, arms crossed again. Always watching.

The "War Room" in the Deep Caves had been replaced by a blueprint spread across a wooden crate. ‎ ‎It wasn't a map of the forest. It was a schematic of a high-rise building in downtown Seattle. ‎ ‎"Blackwood Trust," Vexa said, tapping the paper with her good hand. "Sixty floors of human finance. Boring. But here..." ‎ ‎She pointed to the sub-basement levels, marked in red ink. ‎ ‎"Three levels of underground storage. Level 1 is safety deposit boxes. Level 2 is the gold reserve. And Level 3... is the Private Collection."

It was pulling a final, hidden file—a ghost in the wires—from the wreckage of the server. A single line of text appeared on the tiny, cracked screen: FINAL CLAUSE UNLOCKED. FOR IRIS. Iris watched, her breath catching, as a map began to draw itself. It was a set of GPS coordinates located at the very edge of the Blackwood estate, miles away from the Vane mansion, tucked into a valley where the trees grew thick and the sun rarely reached. “One of the ones Erebus gutted. It was stuffed in the lining of his boot, wrapped in oilcloth.” I set it on the table in front of us and pulled the sleeve open, the pungent smell of blood and old leather hitting me immediately. Inside was a folded, weathered map. When I opened it, my breath caught. It was a layout of Silverclaw territory. But not just any layout. This wasn’t the modern terrain most packs had access to. This was old. Annotated with coded notes and hand-sketched marks—supply routes, border gaps, and… there it was. My eyes narrowed.

My stomach lurched at the thought. But then, on the next page, I saw it – a map. A detailed map of the estate, with a large X marking a spot deep within the sprawling forest. This wasn’t just any spot; it was the location of the abandoned Blackwood mines, a network of tunnels rumored to be vast and treacherous. My heart hammered against my ribs. The mines. Could Annalise be there? But why? And why would Spencer have a map of that specific location? More questions than answers swam in my head, each one fueling my growing sense of urgency.
