Chapter 5

Lyra's POV

The Pack was having a loud celebration of our marriage. Father was very excited about it, it felt like he had done something that he has always wanted to do.

I was seated next to my supposed husband and Aloha, it made my stomach ache and I hated to be there. I would have sat next to my father, but the pack elders were going to kick against it.

I saw how the food and drinks went about the place and how fast things were going in my eyes.

Kael and I have not said much ever since we returned from the river. The day has gone back to normal but I was still unsettled about what it was that was going on.

My wolf has been quiet ever since I returned to my room. I had tried to engage her in a conversation but she had refused to say anything. Maybe she was shocked at what had happened and she was only taking her time to reflect on what it was.

" You do not look well to me" I heard Kael say.

I was surprised that he would speak to me.

Of course I was not well, everything that was going on was irritating to me.

" I am okay" I lied, as I flashed him a smile.

It looked genuine but he did not smile back. His face was the way it was and it even scared me more.

I could hear the bell ringing from the hand of the council leader.

" You all know why we are gathered here. A blood marriage was done yesterday and it has brought us freedom, it has sealed it for us and we can not live in peace" he said.

He looked so excited about it, like someone who had just escaped death.

" There shall no more be war in our Pack, no one is going to be killed anymore and we will sleep at night with eyes closed" he said.

I liked that there was going to be peace, but I hate that I was the sacrifice for that, my life, happiness and my desire to marry a man I love.

" We should get going," he whispered into my ears.

We? It was the first time he was using that word on me and it felt different.

I knew he was tough but it seemed there was a soft side to him.

" I'm sure you are not deaf" he raised his voice at me.

I guess I was wrong about him having a soft side, he was all round brutal.

" I did," I said.

He stretched out his hands towards me and asked that I place my hands on his.

He led me to the car that was waiting, I could not even say a proper goodbye to Father.

" Your maids will get your belongings" he said..

It was cold and distant, at least, he was still speaking to me.

We got in and drove away.

My heart began to beat fast as the car stopped in front of a big building. It was large and beautiful, befitting of a Man of that status.

" This is your new home," he said.

It was dry, like he did not like me being there. I could feel it in the way he said it.

Maybe he would have used welcome to your new home, but I liked that he was not trying to fake his affection for me, I didn't even need it.

" I would like a separate room," I said.

There's no way I was going to spend the night in bed with someone like that. His body was hot and he looked sexy, but I just could not risk it.

" You must be joking, tonight is our first night together and we have to spend the night in the same bed. Besides,I need to make love to you," he whispered.

My body ran cold, I have never felt the hands of a man on my body, he was going to be my first and it was going to be with a man like this? A man who was an enemy? His people killed Mother.

I told Father it was a bad idea and I was right about it. I hated the feeling that it gave me.

" The room is this way," he said.

He opened the door for me to get in, it was a large bed and could take two people at the same time.

" You might not need to stay after tonight," he said.

He could not hide his disgust for me.

" You know that we can decide not to do anything right?" I suggested.

He turned sharply and looked at me.

" Did your father not tell you that we need to consummate this union for the blood oath to work perfectly? If not for it, I would never touch someone like you" he said.

Right, he was damn right about that, I would not even allow him to get close to me. I hated that we needed to do this, it was totally difficult.

I watched as he pulled off his shirt and rolled down the trouser he was wearing.

His body looked so hot, I could not take my eyes off him.

" Why are you staring like that? You can use the other bathroom" he said, not minding how hot he looked and how he was making me feel.

I wanted his body close to me, but the hate in my heart would not let me desire more.

He walked past me and it felt so magical. He stood at the entrance of the bathroom.

" I do not want to wait for you, do not make me wait" he said.

I managed to move my legs out of his room and got into the bedroom that was right opposite his, it should be the one I'll stay after the activity with him.

I stayed behind the door and imagined his fingers down deep inside my panties, I stretched my hands into my panties and felt it wet already.

Silly me, I was here to take revenge on those who killed Mother and not to get my panties wet for Alpha Kael.
