Chapter 1

Lyra's POV

Blood splashed right in my face, it was meant to be the blood of the enemies but I was wrong, it was the blood of my pack members.

Father had asked that I stay back, but how long was I going to stay back and watch our people killed and cut into pieces. Our enemies have no mercy for us and we should have no mercy for them as well.

My eyes went to the body that had fallen on the ground. It was someone I knew. The pain was different, it hurts so deep.

It was at that point I felt happy that I disobeyed my father.

I raised my sword up and headed to cut off the heads of the enemies, I wanted all of them to the ground, dead.

The Lunar Dominion Pack has been at War with the Crimson fang Empire and it has been a blood bath ever since the war started.

It was gossipped that the curse of death was upon our pack and we will keep fighting until we are all dead.

" Are you okay, Princess?" My father's soldier rushed to me.

I could see the fear in his eyes, fear of me being killed on the war front.

" I'm fine, you should be concerned about the dead bodies of our people" I reminded him.

He was hesitant to move but I assured him with a nod that I was fine. Father will only scold me.

" Lyra, there are people to attend to at the Pack's healing house" my assistant ran to me.

She followed me anywhere I went and I sometimes wonder how she got to know where I was on days I told her nothing about my whereabouts.

" After you" I said.

I followed her to the healing house with my heart bleeding so badly for the people that had been killed.

I got there and met lots of injured people.

" You have to be fast about it" one of the women said, she had a dying child on her lap.

I was born with a healing power and that has helped us in this time of war. Maybe I should not get so mad at the Moon goddess for such a terrible time like this as she blessed me with healing powers.

I placed my hands on the sick people and those who were injured. After that, I specifically gave them the names of herbs to be used to help their recovery.

" Thank you" was said to me by the ones I have healed.

I took my cover from my assistant and wrapped myself in it as I walked to the big house.

My father was expecting me and I had to go grant his request. He must have heard that I was at the war front. I will quickly apologize as soon as I see him.

I stood right in front of my father, while removing my cover from my head.

" Father, I want to...." I tried to apologize but was cut short with the raise of his right hand.

" Lyra, we are in trouble, the pack is losing a lot of members. You have been summoned to a meeting by the moon council of both Packs and you must honour it" he said.

It was a good thing that he was not mad at me for going to the War front, but it was bad news to be summoned by the Moon Council of both Packs.

" Why do they want me in their meeting? The Crimson Fang Empire never agrees to anything we suggest. Isn't it a waste of time?" I asked.

He moved closer to me, with pleading eyes.

" This is different, they found a way to end the war and you have to be there. Do it for me, for us" he said.

I know that tone too well, this was more than a meeting or some silly solutions to our problems.

It was like a request for something I would not agree to.

I sighed.

"Okay, I will attend," I said.

I saw a smile break out of his worried face.

I was so upset but I had no choice but to go there as I already told father I would go.

I got to the moon council meeting and met the law makers of both Packs.

They looked at me like I was the most important person in the room. I sat down and listened to what they had to say.

My heart began to race so fast as they pointed out their solutions to the war. My hands began to shake.

" Princess Lyra of Lunar Dominion Pack and Prince Kael of Crimson Fang Empire will have to surrender themselves for a blood marriage, that's the only way out" One of the Law Makers said.

It began to hurt my head so badly. I wondered why that was the only solution to saving us and stopping the war.

I stood up and left the meeting even before it ended.

I began to run, I was going to the river, the very place I had lost my mother.

I got there and felt so angry. I was no longer scared or afraid of the things they had asked me to do.

It was replaced with rage and anger. This war was the reason my mother died, she was killed right in front of this water and I always come here to remind myself of who the enemies were.

" They want me to marry the enemies, those who killed my mother? They want me to do that as a price I get to pay to have peace?" The anger in me rose even higher.

I remembered how my father begged me to do it, but why would he push me to the same people who killed my mother?

I stared hard at the waters, the very place my mother was killed by the Crimson Fang Empire.

Even though I marry their Prince, I will make sure he pays for what his people did to my mother.
