A name that had never crossed my mind before. Seeing her last night, wandering aimlessly on my way back from the gym, was something I hadn’t expected. She looked lost—like a little girl out of place.

I’ll know exactly what he expects of me. She had to find where he kept his private documents. She had to launch a mission of her own, right under the nose of the Blind Beast. "To a long, prosperous union," Damien said, raising his glass, breaking her train of thought. "To family," Avery amended softly, her mind flashing to her grandmother, pale and fragile, hooked up to machines. She took a sip of the wine. The rich, dark liquid coated her tongue. She actually appreciated the deep, earthy undertones, completely forgetting to act like Kendra.

Third Person The whispering under the blanket did not stop. It only grew softer and more insistent, two heads tilted together, words too quiet to catch but clearly urgent. Adrian’s patience finally snapped. He dropped the pen in his hand onto the desk with a sharp, deliberate crack. Ayesha squealed. Ren startled so hard the blanket slipped off one shoulder. “Can you both say what’s on your mind?” Adrian growled. Kai rubbed his forehead, already feeling the tension gather behind his eyes. The two of them had been a constant low-level distraction for the better part of an hour.

She started smearing my name, taking everything I had. My parents sided with her completely. I gave up everything. Everything except the one person I loved — Damien Blackwood. Damien was heir to the Alpha King title of the entire Southern Territory. But when I first found him, he'd lost everything. An ambush had left him blind, stripped of all wolf senses, unable to even hear. His own family had abandoned him in a remote cabin, written him off as useless. I stumbled across him during a hunt. After that, I snuck out every day to take care of him.

"You missed a fold near the side seam!" "My apologies, Lady Celeste," Seraphina murmured quietly, keeping her head low, her dark eyelashes casting shadows over her pale cheeks. Her fingers worked frantically, placing another silver pin precisely into the seam. She was almost finished. Just three more inches of fabric, and she could bow out of the room, retreat to the darkness of the lower halls, and plan her escape from the territory forever. Celeste’s eyes narrowed as she looked down at the top of Seraphina's head. Infuriated by Seraphina's quiet dignity and Killian’s complete distraction, Celeste decided to push harder.

And I don't know where I would be right now if I hadn't met her. Blair is my wife. She's my mate. POV: Frederick I held the clear folder under the yellow basement light. Darla Waid’s signature gleamed in blue ink, clean and stamped without a trace of a tremor over the Balboas' bond. I turned my head toward Luke. His face was completely pale, his jaw clenched so tightly that the muscles bulged under his skin. His eyes were not looking at the page; they stared blankly at the brick wall with a blind, murderous resentment I had never seen on his face before.

"Go back to sleep, I'll still be here when you awake. " The water runs coldly down my back but I don't shiver. My mind is elsewhere as I stare blankly at the white walls. Blood thumbs in my ear wildly and the soap slowly slips from my skin. I'm just too traumatized to do anything. I'm going crazy, I just know it. All I can see every time I sleep are just the same two persons: a girl that seems to be Belle, yet I'm more than acquainted with her feelings for her to be someone else than me; but I know with certainty those images aren't mine. And definitely the man is Aiden. A less fightening, calmer side to Aiden now, but Aiden just the same.

“Jesus, Blair.” She just laughed, unfazed. “I’m serious, babe. There is no better way to exorcise an ex than a mind-blowing, toe-curling, body-wrecking fuck.” Leaning in closer, her voice dropped to a conspiratorial whisper. “And I know just the place.” A slow, nervous heat curled in my stomach. “Where?” Blair’s grin widened. “Fantasies.” I frowned. “Sounds like a sleazy strip club.”

And Blaze has had enough. Liviana blinks out of her daze of dramatic, unlikely scenarios that were more accurate to the trauma a fairytale would have to offer in comparison to her sister's tragic tale. "What?" She murmurs, turning to Blaze with a frown and furrowed brow. She wasn't even listening to him.
