There are days when I wonder what the world around me looks like, what the prey I eat looks like, I even wonder what my mate looks like but I'll never ask because I know that although I am blind and most likely odd looking I will never stand alone. For I am blinded but not deaf, I am blinded but not alone, I am blinded and I will always have a place within this world.

I let out, as I could feel her chin shaking in my hand. “She’s blind,” Shawn let out and that instantly made me confused. “Blind, Lucia,” “Are you blind?” I asked, not wanting to believe that the moon Goddess sent Lucia as someone else. Lucia is the only blind woman that would ever love me. Why wasn't she answering? “Don't let me repeat myself, are you blind?” I yelled. “Yes!” she let out as my hands went shaky.

We took our chance and did what felt right, and in doing so, we made something lovely and profound. “With or without her, it wouldn’t have changed my mind. There’s nothing in this world that would make me reverse a promise I had to myself over thirty years ago and if you think otherwise, you’re fucking dumb.” “The thing with love is that it makes you blind and only people with keen eyes can see the mistakes you make. If she wasn’t in the picture, you’d have come with us and that’s why we had to take care of her too.”

I forced my lips apart and spoke, wincing through each word. "I adulate you, Ginevra." She sniffled, her body vibrating against mine as her blade began carving my eyes out. I didn't make a single painful sound as she carved both my eyes out. I didn't want to make her feel as though she was causing me any pain. I wanted her to hurt me with ease and if swallowing the pain was all it took then I was willing to do just that for her. My hand was on her stomach the whole time, I was basking in the joy of having my baby move around so much I hadn't realized that I had become a blind man.

It was expressionless and unfathomable. “Are you reading from the book or telling me?” “I am telling you, Nathan” she blurted out, “these are the words of the book but there are also my words Nathan. When I told you I love you, I meant it and every single word I said” The blind man was pulled himself to a sitting position as a mocking laugh escaped his lips. “The nerve of you, Audrey” “What?” She was taken aback. “You really have guts I must say, to profess your love for me. How dare you?”

She spat, "That has nothing to do with you. At least I'm a willing party even if he lies to me." She quietly looked at him as the soft light radiated on his exquisite face, bringing out the depth of his eyes. She showed no signs of backing down or raising her voice in a heated argument; she spoke calmly, "I love him, so I don't care about everything else. You're right—love makes people blind. I don't need you to show me who he really is. Even if he's useless, weak, or doesn't care about me, I still love him all the same."
