Shadow Bound

Shadow Bound

White hot pain rips and tears through me as every bone in my body cracks, breaks and extends before jutting itself into place. Screams and howls of pain fill the air, dulled only by the trees and my own pain consuming me. Canines lengthening and claws stretching out, and yet, still I can feel my body is covered in something warm and wet. I sniff the air. Blood. So much blood. Sweet, warm, red liquid copper. Soon the pain dulls to warm rather than hot, and screams become howls and growls in the distance. I join in, yanking and pulling at the chain until my neck hurts so much I think my head might fall right off my shoulders. And then, everything goes black.

BONE CROWN

BONE CROWN

Cassian staggered backward with the blade buried to the hilt below his ribs. Blood poured down his body. Black shadow burst from the wound like smoke escaping a cracked furnace. The thing inside him shrieked. Not human. Not Cassian. The street shook. Windows shattered. People dropped to their knees covering their ears. Cassian fell into the flooded street. Convulsing. Shadow ripped from his body in ragged waves. Clawing. Screaming. Trying to stay anchored inside him. The Bone Crown ignited. Lyra ran to him and dropped into the water.

A Queen Among Tempests

A Queen Among Tempests

The spin-offs are all under 70k words, so they shouldn't take anywhere near as long to complete. The second half of the saga is the next generation books, and is called the Royal Shadow Series, with the first book being titled Shadow of an Alpha (cover and synopsis already available online), and I think you can guess who it's about. The Royal Shadow Series will consist of 9 books, and then the saga will be complete.

Sold to the Lycan King

Sold to the Lycan King

Something in the wind—low and echoing like it came from the bones of the world. Morwenna heard it too. Her head snapped toward the stone archway behind us. The fire we’d lit had dimmed, its glow turning green. Sickly. Wrong. A shadow slipped across the ground. No sound. No footfall. But the grass beneath it wilted. Morwenna cursed and stepped back, dragging me with her. “Don’t let it touch you,” she warned, voice hoarse. “What is it?” “The Bone Seer.” It didn’t look like a man. It didn’t look like anything human. Tall, skin stretched too tight, no eyes—just black holes weeping smoke. Its fingers were too long. Too sharp. Bones showing through rotting skin.

The Luna's Rejected Assassin

The Luna's Rejected Assassin

Stony silence from my wolf. At least the simmering tension in the area gave me the confidence I'd find a fellow criminal with some knowledge. Towns have a bad feeling when they are filled with bad people. Exactly as expected there was a crippled ex-Shadowlander. I had watched enough of those discipline sessions as a child to know the familiar crooked bend of the shin. Shifter healing could only do so much. The Alphas had perfected the technique for injuring you enough to be cowed but able to work a field or mine.

This book follows from “The Banished Alpha” and I love how it continues from those previous events but in new perspectives. It’s a wonderful book about redemption, moving forward and love. Bella had such an amazing character growth that felt relatable and honest. And I just adore grumpy Lucien!

This story was so different and realistic, it is one of the few books I read right to the end without skipping pages or chapters, a “feel good” story of a hero and heroine who were not alphas I highly recommend this book and I hope you write stories about their child/children Congratulations ...

SILVER IN THE SHADOWS

SILVER IN THE SHADOWS

And then, silence. A scream shattered the dusk. Not Ridge. Not Luna. Something inhuman. They came from the trees—figures cloaked in rot and shadows, twisted armor etched with claws and blood-writ glyphs. Hollow pack. Their stench struck first—metal turned sour, flesh long spoiled. Trisha moved before command was called. Her axe unslung in one motion, she veered left into the shadows where screams grew sharper. Serin roared, “West line! Fall to the crest!” even as Ridge archers loosed arrows overhead.

Chasing my Luna

Chasing my Luna

“You revealed it. The chaos was always there, hidden领头先发,紧接着,The Weaver vanished, her form dissolving into the void. The platform trembled, and a low hum filled the air, growing louder with each passing second. From the shadows of the void, figures emerged—not shadow creatures, but echoes of themselves, their faces twisted with rage and despair. Jessica saw her own echo, its eyes hollow, its hands dripping with black blood. “You can’t escape yourselves,” the Weaver said, her voice echoing through the void. “Face your shadows, or they will consume you.” The echoes lunged, and the battle began anew. Jessica fought her own shadow, its movements mirroring hers but faster, crueler. Kade’s echo wa

My Shadow Mate

My Shadow Mate

Collins scolds her, but to her credit, she actually shuts up and turns expectant eyes on Ansel. “I was doing some research about the shadow god for a school project, and asked her to get some info for me. She couldn’t get it because he wasn’t around at that time, but she had a little information that I also had, except some of the details were different. I learnt that the shadow god was an abomination, born from an unholy ritual. The son of the god of death and the moon goddess.” “Wh…” Tali begins, but is cut off when Collins puts his hand over her mouth, effectively silencing her.

Frequently Asked Questions

The question about reading order often comes up, and honestly, there are a couple of valid paths, but I think publication order is the most rewarding. Start with the Shadow and Bone trilogy: 'Shadow and Bone', 'Siege and Storm', then 'Ruin and Rising'. That's the core Alina Starkov story.

After that, you can move into the Six of Crows duology: 'Six of Crows' and 'Crooked Kingdom'. These books are set in the same world but feature a mostly new cast of characters in Ketterdam, and they are, in my opinion, where Bardugo's writing really hits its stride. The plot is tighter and the ensemble is phenomenal.

Finally, tackle the King of Scars duology: 'King of Scars' and 'Rule of Wolves'. These books bring characters from both prior series together. Reading them last is essential because they heavily spoil events from both the original trilogy and the Crows books. Jumping here first would ruin so many surprises. Some suggest reading the Crows first since they're better, but you lose the context of the Grisha world and the fallout from the trilogy's events that shape the political landscape the Crows operate in.

Chronologically, the Crows duology happens after the Shadow and Bone trilogy, but before King of Scars. Publication order respects the author's unfolding of the world and the natural progression of spoilers.
