“They’re not welcome in Moonlit territory.” I stare him down. “As far as I’m aware, I’m still the Luna of this pack. Not for long, maybe—but for now, my word is final.” And then I let the weight of my fury bleed into my voice. “Not that it matters. We don’t intend to stay.” “What do you mean?” Damian demands, voice low, laced with disbelief. “I mean I’m leaving,” I say, loud enough for the room to hear. “As soon as the bond is broken, I will leave the Moonlit pack with Silas... and take my place as Luna of the NightCrows.”

Luna remained on Lucas's back, hugging his neck, while Lucas had his arms around Luna's bent knees. Luna lifted her head, looking at the now darkening sky. "Babe," Luna spoke again, concerned by Lucas's prolonged silence. She tilted her head slightly to see Lucas's face, which was focused straight ahead. "Are you okay?" Luna asked, receiving only a sigh from Lucas. "Why have you been silent all this time? If that's the case, I can get down," Luna said, preparing to release her legs from around Lucas's waist. However, Lucas tightened his grip, causing Luna to wrap her arms back around his neck.

* The voice became louder. *Luna!* She pressed her hands against her ears. "Get out of my head!" The council leader smiled. "You can't." Luna suddenly remembered Elara. *Accept both sides.* The Moon. The Shadow. She had been trying to silence the darkness. Trying to control it. Trying to keep it away. But maybe that was the mistake. Luna stopped fighting. Instead, she opened herself. The Shadow rushed through her. Blackness covered one side of her body. Silver light covered the other.

Isolde couldn't endure watching her beloved husband suffer any longer. She suddenly ran out of her hiding place, screaming like someone had finally let the bitch out of her cage. “Let him go, you horrible saintess!” I turned toward her and stared at her disheveled appearance. I almost laughed. “I'm your Celestial Luna. The one appointed by the Moon Goddess herself. Don't think I'm some lousy saintess.” “Let him go!” She screamed again. This time, I felt my hand growing strangely heavy. My eyes snapped toward Silas.

The plan was to synchronize the actions of both groups, creating a moment of chaos that would allow Luna's group to breach the inner defenses.

Luna's smile widened, a challenge in her gaze as she whispered, "I'm not afraid of the darkness within me." "You should be," I cautioned, a hint of concern in my voice. Luna's expression turned serious, her eyes locking with mine as she declared, "I thrive in the shadows." She paused for a moment before continuing, "And I intend to uncover the secrets hidden there." I sighed, feeling a mixture of curiosity and apprehension toward the enigmatic woman before me. Luna's confidence was both alluring and intimidating, which made me scared of her discovering the depths of my own hidden darkness.

She’d taken a bold step by spying on me but that wasn’t going to restrain me today. The Luna (Moon goddess) was betraying me in the most gruesome way—her silence had gotten my girlfriend, Janet killed. Or even worse, she was directly involved in her death. The Luna was not only annoying me with her endless silence, she’d made my life a living hell yet made sure I regretted every rash action I took against her. She’d kept me busy with fighting off rogues. She made them much stronger and therefore delayed me from returning to my pack when I’d known Janet was in trouble.

Luna went straight to the master's bedroom and changed into something sexy but comfortable took a glass of whiskey and headed to the garden not concerned what or where George was Luna paused at the fountain, letting the mist kiss her skin.
