The Cursed Passion
I try to focus on my steps or the sound of the city at night, but it’s useless.
As the cold breeze brushes against my skin, I hug my arms around myself as a shield. I suddenly feel so small, like I could just disappear into the cracks in the sidewalk and no one would notice. Everything feels like a mess now. I wish I could return to the time when I was clueless about everything—times when Damien would look at me like I was the most treasured treasure that’s ever been found on earth like he could see no one else but me. I scoff bitter knowing I can never go back. As much as ignorance is bliss, it is just as bad as a disease.
