Instead, it started to suck the ink out of the machine. The silver wires began to dissolve into the pages. The red lights dimmed. "No... the data..." the machine groaned. In seconds, the Bryan-machine was gone. All that was left was a pile of scrap metal and a single, glowing blue microchip on the grass.

The wind howled violently, scratching at my throat until I felt an itch that seemed to make me want to cough. "Enough talking. Choose, or I'll let them both go."
