Vanessa Anderson seorang gadis remaja yang baru saja kehilangan ayahnya karena serangan hewan buas, harus pindah sekolah dari Jakarta ke Wisconsin-USA dan tinggal bersama pamannya yaitu adik dari ayahnya. di sekolah barunya dia bertemu pemuda bernama Alex Kelvin Steward yang mengklaim Vanessa sebagai matenya. Hal ini membuatnya terus menggali dan mencari fakta tentang apa yang terjadi didalam keluarganya.
