"They've been breached." Before I could respond, a flash of silver light exploded through my mind. A vision. A woman stood beneath a blood-red moon, her hair white as fresh snow, silver markings glowing across her skin. Thousands of wolves surrounded her, some bowed, others attacked. Fire consumed the horizon, mountains crumbled, kingdoms fell, and above them all a voice echoed through the darkness. “When the Moon's Daughter awakens, the forgotten bloodline shall rise. The Alpha shall kneel, the kingdoms shall burn, and death shall walk beside the bond.”

Her heart still beat, but it was weak and uneven. “Aria,” I said softly. “Open your eyes.” Nothing. The glow from her mark spread to her neck and down her spine. Her skin looked almost transparent under the moon, as if the power inside her wanted to tear through her body. The blood moon shone bright above us, turning the field red. Every part of the air vibrated. My wolf growled with anger and panic. He wanted to protect her, but the moon wanted to break her. I lifted her into my arms again and held her against my chest. She felt too cold now, a sharp change from the burning heat before.

The night was still, but there was a sharpness to the air that made the hairs on Isabella’s arms lift. Two men stepped out from the shadows, blocking their path. Both wore dark hoodies, and each held a knife glinting faintly under the streetlight. “Your luck runs out here, Moretti,” one of them said. Before Isabella could react, Matteo’s body shifted — not in panic, but with a predator’s precision. It was clear why it was called the blood moon as the giant orb hung there the same shade of crimson as the liquid I used to save so many. I watched as the bright silver glow of the moon slowly replaced by the splendid scarlet. When the color change was completed on the entire moon, it was midnight. I jarred my head to look toward the Moonlight Lily. The flower was blooming under the blood moon! As quickly as possible, I grabbed the knife from my pocket and slashed my arm. As my blood dripped into the center of the petals, I cut cleanly through the stem of the flower in its mesmerizing blue glow.

The wolfsbane was already making her dizzy and her blood was dripping everywhere. It made her wonder whether being the moon's chosen meant having lots of blood. Afterall it was what she seemed to have in abundance. As if her wolf had been exchanged with lots of blood in her body. That regardless of how unhealthily she eats, she still has large volumes of blood that flows whenever she is being punished. Still, she readied herself. She had to pass this task through all means and then hope on Freya to get out of here. She imagined things going wrongly but she reminded herself about Freya's hate. KuLaa emerged from the darkness of the night and flew to the highest point of the castle's roof. She was draped in her purple wizard cloak and her purple serpentine eyes were blazing with hatred and evil. With her hands placed in a crisscross over her chest and the motes lights of magic swirling around her body like a tornado, KuLaa started muttering under her breath. The wind stopped blowing and a dark cloud submerged the stars in the sky. The moon found its way to KuLaa and shone directly on her. SELENE POV The full moon was bursting with light as it sat like a glowing pendant in the sky. I had no time to appreciate its beauty as I dashed through the forest. Cursing the moonlight that illuminated the trees, as well as myself, I leaped fluidly over a stone. I could feel my pursuers gaining ground on me and the thought of being captured sent a thrill of fear through my bones. I pushed myself to run even faster. I spotted Magenta’s cell phone on the nightstand beside her bed and quickly dialed Nikoa’s number.
