A loud crash from behind the couch sent Him yelping and nearly hurling himself into my arms in shock. “Oops. Sausage fingers.” Elias chuckled, shrugging at the shattered pieces of ceramic on the floor. "That's my wife's.” Andrew cried in despair. “She does pottery? I'd recommend a different hobby. These are ludicrous." Elias sneered, picking up another vase. Andrew turned back to me and screamed. I'd left the armchair to stand over him so he was staring directly down the barrel of my gun. “Where is the drive, Andrew?" I asked, my voice lower than before.

“You’ll never get in through the front.” Luciano glanced at Aria. “We’re not going through the front.” ⸻ They snuck in under cover of nightfall. Luciano and three of his most trusted men, armed and silent. Aria followed close, adrenaline pumping through every vein. They crawled through old irrigation tunnels, damp and narrow. Rats skittered past. Aria gagged when her knee sank into something soft and rotting—but she kept moving. Her father was waiting. The tunnel opened into the basement of the compound.

Golden scales started appearing one by one. “AHHHHHHHHHHHH!” Andromeda screamed in pain, huffing rapidly a while after that. Sweats were forming on her forehead, and the tiny droplets fell as she continued transforming from one creature to another. The physical pain that she has was unbearable. This lasted for ten more minutes before she could finally swim using her golden tail. She swam freely, and went on to deeper parts of the ocean, swirling her body in ways that humans would never reach nor be able to do so.
