Matched (Mortal, Book Three)

Matched (Mortal, Book Three)

Blood seeps through my fingers, and I know I've been hit. "Nora!" Marybelle cries, dodging an attack and running towards me. "I'm okay," I grit out, though the pain is terrible. I try to stand, and my legs buckle beneath me. But I'm not done yet. I take a deep breath and send a blast of white magic towards the remaining hunters. They're thrown back, and the forest is silent. The Silver Hunters are dead or gone, and we're still alive. I look at my companions, and we all share a moment of relief.

I gasped as I looked back up at Xipher, and he smiled and softly nodded his head. “A storm is coming.” He said in a voice that sent dreaded shivers through my body as I turned, looking out over the glowing land. To Be Continued in BOOK THREE “GUARDIANS KINGDOMS”

Revenge of the Broken Soul: Vows of Blood and Fire

Revenge of the Broken Soul: Vows of Blood and Fire

The very thing they’d been forced to fight for, like dogs scrambling for scraps under their mother’s table. He leaned down, blood dripping from his chin, his fingers closing around the invitation with a calm, final certainty. “I win,” he said quietly, lifting it up for all to see. “He can’t make it.” He turned and looked at Jaxon—his brother now slumped against the wall of the arena, one arm hanging limp, chest heaving with shallow breaths, sweat and blood soaking through his shirt. “Just look at your favorite son,” Dorian continued, his voice sharpened by exhaustion and contempt. “He’s barely breathing.”

Light & Darkness: Book 3

- he added at the end. - My mom.- I guessed right away. - Exactly.- Oliver confirmed.- There was nothing I could do about it, so I just bought a house on the other side of the forest to hunt here. Since leaving the clan, I drink mostly animal blood, and every now and then I go to further towns to hunt down people, but only the bad ones. If the blood of the animals themselves were enough, I would definitely give up hunting people completely.- he admitted.

Queen of Ruin- The Broken Immortals Book Three

“What did he do?” After reliving the foyer scene in his memory, his eyes rose to meet Billy’s again. “He gave her his blood; he made her drink it.” A sharp breath came from Billy as he leaned into the seatback and pointed at Teddy. “That boy saved her life.” The old wizard sneered at his aching knees as he stood and peered out the tiny window that overlooked the dirty town outside and explained his orders. “The council won’t stand for this kind of treachery. They’ve authorized the other Orders to clean house in Savannah. We’ll kill them all, the Idrissi’s and all Jasper’s two-faced brethren.”

The Redemption of Maximus-Book 3

The Redemption of Maximus-Book 3

Surprisingly, I don't find the idea disturbing. Feeling boredom as it sets in quickly, I make my way over to the bookshelf. I start to peruse the titles and am shocked at what I find. I see the House of Night Series, The Twilight Series, Forbidden Knowledge, Harry Potter Trilogy, and various books on Military Protocols all with black covers. The books are all in good condition too. Not interested in any of the military books I reach for the first book in the House of Night Series. As I take the book over to the couch to settle in, the door swings open.

The Mafia's Bloodlust Games (The Final Chapter)

The Mafia's Bloodlust Games (The Final Chapter)

My eyes widened when the lights went off and Lilian walked away without saying a word to respond. Dimmed lights suddenly appeared on the ground where people lay on the ground as if unconscious, or more specifically, coming back to their senses. My eyes searched them for my wife to find her sitting down, her hands rubbing her eyes as she looked around, her eyes adjusting to the light around her. Richard sat up close beside her, the two of them looked one another in the eye, confusion draw over their expressions. “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to The Bloodlust Games, The final chapter”

Manang Lydia said. “Does she allow that?” Manang Lydia smiled and winked at me. “If you are feeling fine, then you can.” I went upstairs and went to Dale’s library. Before picking up a book to read, I enjoyed looking, rooming around first, leaving a gentle touch to every book I passed by. My gaze at the “The Scorch Trial” book that was written by James Dashner. I already finished reading “The Maze Runner”. I decided to read it and went to the garden.

The Moon's Descendant

The Moon's Descendant

Zelena. I opened my eyes slowly. The sun was already shining brightly through the window. I reached my arm behind me and felt around the bed. I sat up quickly and looked around the room. Gunner wasn’t there. I took a deep breath and yawned stretching my arms out. Wait, my chest didn’t hurt. I twisted my back from side to side waving my arms in the air, my ribs didn’t hurt at all. I got up from the bed and walked around the room, still no pain. I noticed the bookshelf and decided to take a look. There were so many books, some with older worn covers and others newer looking. I picked up a small red book and read the cover ‘A Lycanthropy Reader; WEREWOLVES IN WESTERN CULTURE’. I flicked through

The story is really good! The writer seemed to be learning how to tell the story from two perspectives. At first the author rewrote whole scenes but listened to readers and adapted it a little better. Still some time jump with perspective changes. Zelena has so many powers it seems a lil contrived.
