Chapter 10 As the sun set on that momentous day, Millent, Mike, Daniel, and Alex stood before their pack, their bond stronger than ever. They knew that their journey was non-taurus and that challenges would still arise, but they faced the future with renewed hope and a profound sense of unity. Blackthorn Pack territory was nothing like Crescent Moon. Where my old pack had been comfortable and modest, Blackthorn was magnificent. The pack house rose from the forest like a fortress, all dark stone and towering windows. Guards patrolled the perimeter with military precision. Everything spoke of power, wealth, and absolute authority. The warriors escorting me led me through gates that could withstand a siege, past training grounds where dozens of wolves sparred with lethal efficiency, and into the main building itself.

Their hands joined Cassian’s over my belly. The warmth of all three surrounded me instantly. “We drove them back,” Thorne said, his voice rough but steady. “They will not return tonight.” Aurelius’ lips brushed the curve beneath his hand. “The triad held.” My hands trembled as I reached for them, touching their skin, grounding myself in their presence. “You came back,” I whispered. Thorne leaned in, pressing a firm kiss against my belly. “We always will.” Aurelius followed, slower and deliberate.

My eyes darted between the faces—some I knew, most I didn’t. No one moved to help. Not even the ones I’d served for years. Not even the ones I’d healed, fed, and cared for. And still, the triplets stared. Kael took a step forward. “This isn’t over, Rory.” Riven’s eyes were dark and stormy. “No. It’s only just beginning.” Thorne didn’t speak. His eyes were on mine—intense, heavy. I couldn’t read him, but his expression said everything: this changed everything.

Rain said the vineyards were his baby, that and growing medicinal plants. The night unfolded our laughter and conversations intertwining like the stars above, we all spoke about ourselves, and even Blaze spoke about his struggles with sharing, Phoenix understood, I am an only child, and I've never had to share, so I totally get it. The triplets spoke about their unique abilities Thorn listened with a warm smile on his face. He had always wondered what it would be like to have brothers, and it seemed he was about to inherit some.

Kiara felt a dull lump on her throat. There was something… She couldn't put her finger on it, but it scared her. There was something about them, the three men, but she couldn't help but notice the striking resemblance between the three strangers. She immediately recognized them as triplets or brothers. “Um… what's going on?”

I turned around, wrapping the shirt tightly around my body. There was no one. Was I being paranoid? Later that night, things got messier. I only found out Derek's anxiety when a sudden war broke out that same night I met Derek. I was kept in my heavily guarded room until the war was over. I paced around, wondering what had happened. My door was pushed opened and Mandy walked in looking worried. " What happened, Mandy?" I asked, eager to hear news of the war and the triplets. " The Thorn Clan just reclaimed their land. We suffered heavy casualties. It's surprising..." Mandy explained, still wearing the worried expression.

She left the main door ajar and sat on the threshold, and looked at me once in awhile to see whether I was eating. To satisfy grandma’s watchful eyes, I began to eat. And as I did, my appetite regenerated quickly and magically. The soup was delicious and still hot, so I sweated profusely as I ate, though the weather was cold as a result of the rain. Grandma started talking to herself when three fireflies entered the veranda. She stood up and tried to whisk them off with her hands but her effort yielded no results – they flew out very fast before they could get caught.
