Brian had been working late in the engineering lab, struggling with a broken hydraulic prototype for his intro project. Frustrated, he leaned in to adjust the tubing, not realizing the pressure valve hadn’t been properly locked. The moment he twisted the clamp, it jerked free with a violent hiss metal snapping back and slicing across the top of his hand. “Shit!” he hissed, stumbling back. Blood welled up instantly, dripping onto the tiles. His heartbeat surged as the sting set in. Clutching his hand, he staggered to the sink, muttering curses under his breath, rain still tapping on the windows like a ticking clock. He didn’t even hear the door open behind him.

He quickly got to Boulvar’s side to checked his vitals. His head and torso was so badly slashed by his own wind attack, that his face was thorn into shreds. His right eye was gone from the socket, his nose cut off, as well as his lower lip and parts of his chin. What he was more worried about, though, was the blood pumping out from the deep gushes on his neck and chest. “He’s not gonna make it!” said a student near them. “That’s arterial blood pumping out his neck!
