I tried to push myself up with my left hand, completely forgetting about the IV line. ​A pain ripped through the back of my hand as the needle pulled against my vein. I fell back against the pillows. ​"Don't do that!" the nurse scolded sternly, quickly checking the IV line to ensure it hadn't torn through the skin. "You have a grade-three severe dislocation in that shoulder, a hairline fracture in your clavicle, and your muscles are essentially completely depleted. You aren't walking anywhere for at least a week. Lie still." ​"I can't lie still," My voice trembling as the panic began to completely consume me. I grabbed the nurse's wrist with my left hand. "Please. I have to know."

Jayden's right index and middle fingers were directly broken and pulled out from his palm. In a flash, blood gushed everywhere. Jayden was first dumbfounded. The next second, the immense paint spread from his wounds, and he stared at his right hand in disbelief. His heart beat so violently that it almost crashed his sternum. Then, he felt a strong air current rushing toward him. In the blink of an eye, the surrounding air seemed to turn into a vacuum. When Jayden raised his head, he let out a silent scream, and he saw a fist getting larger in his sight as if it were a meteorite wanting to blast him into pieces.

I wiped the tears from my eyes with a furious hand, staring down at my wrist. I touched the soft skin with my fingertips, tracing the cobalt veins beneath. There was no festering wound, that ached it oozed dark blood, nor a scarlet sickle etched into my skin.

I ripped my mask from my face and threw it to the side. Trembling, I brought my hand to my stomach, touching the wound and immediately winced, ‘Ah!’ I yelped, arching my back, curling myself inwards as I cried out at the pain. As I lifted my hand to see how much blood there was, I sobbed even more as I saw the wolfsbane had scalded my hand, infected with blisters, redness and rawness coated in my blood. I had no choice. I had to stop the bleeding.

“Food? What do you mean?” “I will give you a miracle.” She disregarded the question. “Watch carefully.” “Shadow… Shadow…” She started to panic. Shadow lowered her gaze and looked at her own occupied hand. “Spread.” She said. The chill and goosebumps crawled under her skin for the second time. But then… “Ugh…” The sudden pain surged from the wrist that was held by Shadow. “What… What is this? AH!” The pain intensifies while the red-ish ugly vein popped starting from her wrist and soon to her whole hand.

My eyes didn't miss the veins on his hands. My eyes traced his visible veins. I can see that. I don’t know why his veins were bulging or why his veins appeared like that. Maybe from working out? Lifting dumb bells or what? My gaze went up to his biceps. He's just wearing a T-shirt so I can see his whole arm. Fuck, those veins! Damn that hand. I wonder what it feels like to be choked by his hand. I closed my eyes tightly. There it is! There it is! I'm fucking imagining wild things. "Why can't you look at me? Look at me, Quiva."

I knew my ability had its limits but I had to at least try. Slowly I moved my hands onto the wolf's neck. The minute I touched him I gasped, unable to breath properly. The pain barreled through me and I fought the urge to cry out, biting my lip hard. My muscles burned as I let his pain in. I watched as the color drained from my hand and up my arms, leaving my arms looking ghostly. The veins in my hands seemed to enlarge, raising my skin around it. I felt myself growing weaker, but I pressed on, seeing the wounds start to close despite the blood dripping from my nose.

“Yes. I did promise you, didn’t I?” He tilted his head at her. “I said I will make you normal again.” “How? By poking me every day?” “It’s called acupuncture. It’s to test your blood flow.” He frowned at her words. She lifted his hand to her and said, “See, your veins are looking normal again. Instead of being black and blue, it’s becoming a normal color.” He pulled his hand to his face as he looked at the veins. He didn’t even notice that his blood vessels were becoming normal again.

Alas, he suddenly halted in shock. Originally, one of his hands had been the normal white color while the other was riddled by black veins from his last battle. They had already spread a bit, delaying the response when he told his fingers to move. Now, however, he couldn't tell anymore which hand it had been. They were both pure white. If he didn't know any better, he would think that he was never affected to begin with.
