"What does your new friend look like, Heidi?" Heidi proudly lifted her drawing. It was a crude, childish sketch of a very tall figure standing between two giant green trees. The figure was colored completely in dark gray and black crayons, but the most unsettling part was the face. Heidi had used a bright yellow crayon to draw two massive, perfectly round circles for the eyes.

But that wasn’t what he was drawing today. There was a picture of two girls—rendered crudely in crayon, but still identifiable as girls. One of them had short blond hair and the other had long brown braids. Their hands were on their faces and their mouths open in screams. David had drawn these as big black circles. A huge black shadow hovered before them, a shapeless body with red eyes and clearly defined hands. The hands looked like long silver knives. There were many drawings before this one. Lauren wondered how long David had been at it.

Glaring at me. [So you'll throw your life? Just like that?] I opened the book and scan through the pages. At first, it was all blank. My drawings completely wiped out. I started seeing red. Rage surge inside me like blazing fire. But it stops... then recedes to oblivion when Kenneth's face appeared. I pursed my lips in relief. I ran my finger at his image. Black inky hair, electric blue eyes. My drawings doesn't have the lush of colors he always had.

And bruv, I scored! An office portrait worthy. Damn, I'm too good. Grinning, I look up just to see his attention on me already. A smile set on his face. I blush. “I love it when you blush. What got you excited?” “You.” I blurt. His eyebrows go into his hairline, “me?” “Yup.” I look down at my diagram. “Hey, Lan?” “Attention on you, baby.” I feel my cheeks warming up. “Can I get a frame of his size here today?”
