I watched in horror, frozen in place, as The Shadows enveloped Layna, their dark tendrils slicing through her body with ruthless efficiency. They drained her of every last drop of blood, their malevolent presence seeming to revel in her agony. Although she can have information from Ambrion to help her surveying the network, she wants to feel the outside herself. So, her shadows who were connected to her mind and body would let her see everything they do and follow her desires.

White hot pain rips and tears through me as every bone in my body cracks, breaks and extends before jutting itself into place. Screams and howls of pain fill the air, dulled only by the trees and my own pain consuming me.
