She held out her sketch—a lively, imperfect drawing of the students sitting in a circle under the ancient tree, their faces filled with the unselfconscious joy of youth. Around them, she'd drawn flowers and birds, sun and stars, all mixed together in a chaotic but beautiful composition that seemed to capture the very essence of their new way of being.
Lysander knelt down to look at the drawing properly, his face breaking into a wide smile.
"This is wonderful," he said sincerely.
