Bosco leaned back, folding his hands across his chest in a gesture that somehow made him look both defensive and contemplative.
He exhaled sharply through his nose. "He acted too confidently," Bosco said, his tone measured and analytical now. "Too calm. Too sure of himself, even when we were insulting him, threatening him."
He nodded slowly, as if confirming his own theory. "He might actually have some background. Real power. The kind we don't want to provoke without knowing exactly what we're dealing with."
